“I’ll see you at work.” I leave her apartment with a grin stretching my cheeks, one that I haven’t felt in a long time.

Chapter Twenty-Nine

SEBASTIAN

The ideaof Damien and Olivia working together to get this leak situated makes mecrazy, so I decide to insert myself into the whole mess.

I never said I was smart.

I’m old enough to know when I’m beaten. I’ve seen Olivia with Dominic, how her eyes shine with love for him. I’ve seen the way she and Damien dance around each other.

What can I offer that men half my age can’t?

But that doesn’t mean I’m taking this lying down.

I plan to get everything I can out of my relationship with Olivia, regardless of Damien and Dominic.

When I walk into Damien’s office, I’m grateful to not see Olivia there. I might have gone all caveman and taken her out of there over my shoulder or something.

“Are you busy?”

He looks up at me eyes wide.

I shrug. “Door was open.”

He nods. “I’m always busy. What’s up?”

He looks it. He looks frazzled, but that’s none of my business.

Except for how it affects Olivia. And all of it does affect her.

“I want to help with this leak.”

“You’re Titan’s golden boy, and you want to go behind their backs and help Olivia?”

“Yes.”

It’s a simple answer, but Damien tilts his head, his shoulders stiffening.

“Do you love her?”

Yes.

I shift in my seat. “I didn’t come here to talk about that. I came here because I care about Olivia, and I want to help any way I can to save her business.”

Damien narrows his eyes at me, but he doesn’t protest, sliding a few papers in front of me.

“This key code. It keeps coming up.”

I look up from the paper. “Who is it registered to?”

He waves a hand dismissively. “Roland Emerson. But he’s a longtime family friend, and he lost his key card a long time ago.”

“He didn’t report it?”

Damien sighs, as if he feels this isn’t important, but I do.

“I can punish him for a years’-old offense, or?—”
