“J.D.! Oh!”

My nails dug into his back has the force of his thrusts pushed me over the edge. He removed his hand from around my neck, pushed my thighs back and slammed into me over and over.

“Fuck!” he shouted, throwing his head back as he released inside of me.

He collapsed on top of me, his warm breath tickling the sensitive skin of my neck. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Nothing like a quickie in the morning,” I said, laughing.

“I can’t disagree with that.”

As he lifted off me, his gaze met mine and a surge of warmth spread throughout my entire body. The way he looked at me was like nothing in the world mattered but here and now. I wanted the moment to last forever, never wanting it to end. However, our moment of peace was abruptly shattered by the jarring sound of my cell phone ringing.

He groaned when he dragged out of me, then collapsed on the bed beside me. I grabbed my phone and rolled my eyes when I saw my sister’s name on the caller I.D. Leave it up to her to ruin the moment.

“Who is it?” J.D. asked, as he rose off the bed.

I could look at his tanned, muscular ass until the day I died.

“Rumi.”

“Answer it,” he said, chuckling as he walked into my bathroom, shutting the door behind him.

“Hello.”

Panic filled her voice as she spoke. I could barely understand a word she said.

“Slow down, Rumi,” I said. “Okay. Okay. I’ll turn it on now.”

After ending the call, I reached for the remote and turned on the television, filling the room with the sound of the news.

Breaking News

The FBI is looking for any information regarding the disappearance of Special Agent in Charge, Donald Williams. According to his wife, the thirty-year veteran of the Federal Bureau of Investigation did not return home last night after receiving an urgent call from who he said was a family member. As you can imagine his family is distraught and hoping for his safe return. Details are limited at this time but as soon as we get more information, we will let the public know. The FBI is also asking if anyone has any information aboutAgent Williams to please contact the FBI Charlotte Field Office immediately.

As soon as J.D. exited the bathroom, I clicked the television off and tossed the controller on the bed, the room falling into silence.

“Did you have anything to do with it?”

He abruptly halted, his brows furrowing as he fixed his gaze on me. “Did I have anything to do with what?”

I took in a deep breath and released it. “My godfather is missing. Did you have anything to do with it?”

He walked over to me, his footsteps echoing softly on the floor, then settled down on the bed beside me. He pulled me into his arms. “No, I didn’t. When I said I wouldn’t fuck with him, I meant it, Rebel.”

I nodded, keeping my gaze fixed on the ground. I didn’t want to see in his eyes if he was lying.

“Look at me, Rebel.” I did as he asked. “I did nothing to him. But you have to understand he may be your godfather, but he has enemies because of who he is.”

I knew he was right, as his words echoed in my mind. My godfather dedicated his life to dismantling criminal organizations, tirelessly working to bring them to justice. So, the list of who would have done this was very long.

“I believe you.”

He kissed me on the lips. “Don’t worry. They’ll find him.”

While I appreciated him trying to keep my hopes up, he and I both knew that he was probably already dead. I just prayed that we would find a body to give closure to his family.

“That's why Rumi called. She was letting me know what was going on and everyone was gathering at his house.”
