“You ready to do this?” Hannibal asked, slapping me on the back.
“Fuck yes. I’m ready to be done so I can get back to my woman.”
“I know what the fuck you mean, man,” Schizo said. “Even though I ain’t got no woman, I definitely wouldn’t mind fuckingone of the girls. Four fucking days is too long to go without pussy.”
We all laughed. Despite what I was about to do, it felt good to be able to laugh. Me, Hannibal, and Schizo had just pulled up to the Sinners clubhouse. I was here to end this shit, today. I wanted to know why Fergus had done this. Regardless of how he felt about me, this was his grandchild and his daughter-in-law.
I moved away. I had no contact with him. I didn’t want him in my life anymore and I was pretty sure he didn’t want me in his. He treated me worse after my mother left. So, what the fuck did any of this fucking accomplish? Did he hate me so much, he wanted me to hurt? That was all I could think it would be. He wanted me to suffer. He wanted me to be alone.
When we stepped inside the Sinners clubhouse the conversations immediately stopped. It was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. The tension in the air vibrated and was suffocating. I hoped Grimm had already briefed everyone on what would happen today. If he didn’t, I didn’t care. At this point Demons United and the Sinners had no beef between us. My issue was with Fergus, not the Sinners. But all that could change. I told them Fergus would tell them what happened, and by the time it was over they’d have all the proof they needed.
As Grimm approached me, I noticed the sullen look on his face. Of course, I understood. Even though I hated my father, he had a better relationship with him. I also had a better relationship with his father, Angus. Either way, I knew Grimm would do what was right by my wife and child.
He embraced me then slapped me on the back a couple of times. “He’s out back,” he said when he pulled away. He faced his brothers. “Church!”
He made a quick motion, for us to follow him. As we passed the Sinners, the crowd split apart like the Red Sea. The welcome was frosty, with icy stares and an unspoken tension in the air.But I expected nothing less because I was getting ready to kill their brother. My father.
We wore our cuts today to get the word across to every motherfucker in this room that when you fuck with Demons United, you get dealt with. Dani was my wife, Luca was my son, which meant they were under the protection of the club and Fergus’s hand in their deaths was not only an attack on me personally but my mc.
We were the largest one percenter motorcycle club on the east coast. Our territory stretched from Georgia to New England. Any other mc if they had any chapters in any state where our club was located, they had to get permission from our mother chapter to set up shop in that city, town, or state. And we had to okay their bylaws. We were the powerful ones in this room. While I loved my cousin and Sin City was founded by my family, they had nothing on us. It was only as a courtesy to my cousin that I brought this to him instead of getting the retribution owed to me.
When we stepped outside, I noticed the shock on my father’s face, followed by an unmistakable wave of anger.
“What the fuck are you doing here!” he shouted as I walked towards him only to be stopped by Grimm’s grip on my shoulder. “You fucking traitor!”
“Don’t touch him until we get the formalities out of the way,” Grimm warned. “If you do this, you’re going to do it right.”
My eyes locked onto my father with a glare, but then I quickly shifted my attention to Grimm. I knew he was right. Even though the Sinners weren’t behind Fergus’s death, he’d die anyway before I left Vegas so there was no point in getting his brothers riled up for no reason.
Ignoring my father’s rants echoing around me, I stood beside Grimm as we waited for all the men to settle into their seats.
Grimm had arranged chairs in the clubhouse's backyard, ensuring all Sinners who could attend Church had a place to sit. Grimm called the meeting to order as soon as the last man took his seat.
“What’s all this about?” one of the Sinners asked, his eyes jumping between us and his president. “What are they still doing here?”
“J.D. has come for retribution and now it’s time for you all to hear the truth,” Grimm said. “And you need to hear it from your brother, my uncle and J.D.’s father.”
“He’s not my fucking kid!” Fergus shouted.
I agreed with him. He stopped being my father a long time ago so why in the hell did he do all this?
Grimm walked towards Fergus, who had a menacing death stare fixed on me. I’d never seen so much hate aimed at me. The only thing I’d ever done to this man was be born which I had no fucking control over. I did everything in my power to separate myself from him, but he had to pull me right back in. Try to destroy me like he destroyed my mother. The man was a cancer, and he didn’t deserve any of the Sinners’ loyalty.
“Fergus has done some unthinkable things,” Grimm said as he stood behind Fergus.
“Fucking lies,” Fergus sneered.
“He used a prospect to do his dirty work,” Grimm continued, gripping Fergus by the shoulders. “Shit looked like it was done in our name. He could have started a war between the Sinners and Demons United.”
“I haven’t done shit! And this traitorous motherfucker shouldn’t even be allowed to step foot in our clubhouse since he turned his back on his family.”
I crossed my arms over my chest to keep from walking over to him and gutting him where he sat. I had to remind myself thathe was trying to provoke me, hoping to have his brothers take his side, but I refused to let him get under my skin.
“Do any of you remember taking a vote to sanction a hit on a mother and her child?” Grimm asked, looking to his brothers.
The air was filled with a chorus of resounding “no’s,” “fuck no’s,” and “hell no’s.”
“Me either,” Grimm said. “I don’t sanction hits on women unless it directly affects the club, and I definitely don’t harm children.”
