"I guess they’re getting ready to find out how badass you really are." I chuckle as a young lady in a blue pencil skirt and white blouse walks up to us and extends her hand towards Roger.
"Roger, nice to see you again."
Roger refuses to shake her hand, and she drops her hand to her side.
"Michelle, I see you found a place to use your talent."
"Don't be like that, Roger. I did what I needed to do for me."
"Whatever, let's start this meeting. My client has a business to run."
I place my hand on his shoulder and glance over at the lady who seems to have Roger irritated. "Is she going to be a problem?"
"Water under the bridge. She's here as a distraction for me, but you know me, D, that shit isn't going to work."
Nodding, I follow Roger as we walk down a long hallway. We stop in front of the door as the lady turns towards Roger.
"Roger, I'm sorry. They are trying to use me as a distraction," she whispers, confirming Roger’s earlier statement.
"Michelle, I'm a damn good attorney, and although we have history, Austin is family. Hell will freeze over before I let him go down for this shit. You are a nonfactor."
After a brief second, she nods her head and opens the door where Agent Douglas and Agent Harris are sitting. "Gentlemen, we’re glad you could make it," Agent Douglas says.
Roger and I take a seat in front of them, and the lady sits against the wall across the room.
"If she has not introduced herself, that is Agent Michelle Contee." Agent Douglas peers over at Agent Contee. "She has been helping with the investigation into the disappearance of Cody Daniels or as you know him, Spike."
"All right, agents, now that everyone knows everyone let's get this meeting underway." Roger glances back down at his watch. "My client has a business to run and time is money."
Smirking, I look over at Roger, and he looks at me and smiles. I look over at the agents and lean back in my chair, waiting for the questioning to begin.
"Okay, this interview will be recorded," Agent Douglas states, but Roger interrupts.
Roger leans back in his chair and crosses his leg at the knee, placing his hands in his lap. "Under no circumstances will this interview be recorded. My client is not under investigation or arrest, and this is not an interrogation. He has come in as a courtesy."
Agent Douglas stands and places his palms on the table. "Mr. Satterfield, we need this on tape for our investigation."
Roger smiles. "It's not my client's obligation to aid you in your investigation. It's not going to happen, gentlemen, and if you insist on recording this meeting thatmy client agreed to, it is over." Roger stands, and I stand along with him.
"Okay, Mr. Satterfield, we won't record the meeting since your client has decided to cooperate on his own," Agent Harris says. Agent Douglas looks pissed and sits down.
"Now that we have that out of the way, let's get this moving." Roger peers back down at his watch and taps the face as we both sit back down.
"All right, is your name Austin Tyler of Savannah, Georgia?" When Agent Harris asks the question, I look to Roger, and he nods his head.
"Are you really looking over to your lawyer to answer a question about your damn name?" Agent Douglas scoffs, and I smile at their frustration.
"I am his attorney, and my job is to make sure he answers the right questions. Now Austin, you can answer."
"Yes."
"Okay. Mr. Tyler, are you a member of the motorcycle club known as Demons United?"
I repeat my initial action, and Roger nods his head.
"Yes."
"How do you know Cody "Spike" Daniels?"
