She comes back out in a skintight mermaid dress.

“Too trashy,” I say.

“I look sexy.” She runs her hands down her body. “You can’t deny it.”

She’s right. I can’t. Lucia looks sexy, but I want my bride to look elegant on our wedding day. Not like trailer trash.

“Go change.”

Lucia makes a show of rolling her eyes again as she stalks off. When she comes back out in the dress I chose, I feel my cock grow harder at the sight of her. She’s perfection in it. It hugs her body without being lewd. It’s the epitome of femininity.

“Well?” she asks, placing her hands on her hips.

“I like that one.”

“Well, you can thank the shop assistant. She’s the one who picked it out. So, it looks like I won’t be wearing the dress you chose after all.”

I can only smile. “It looks that way. I like this one. Wear this one.”

“For once, we’re in agreement on something.”

If only Lucia knew the truth.

I’m going to mold her into the perfect wife when all is said and done. Today is the first step in getting there.

CHAPTER 4

Lucia

Ihate Santino with a burning passion …

… but I also find him extremely handsome.

This wasn’t how it was supposed to go. Santino was supposed to be my dream man. The yin to my yang. My prince charming.

Instead, he’s been anything but.

He’s arrogant. Presumptuous. He thinks he can make every decision about our wedding.

My future husband was supposed to fall in line. Encourage me to follow my dreams. Do asIsay.

With Santino, it’s the opposite. According to him, I have to do whathesays. Which is bullshit if you ask me.

All he had to do was be kind to me at the party. Dance with me. Talk to me. Not insult me. Not say I’m not pretty, which is the most absurd thing I’ve ever heard. Me? Not pretty?

Now, that’s even more bullshit.

At least I have a wedding dress I like. The shop assistant was nice enough to pick it out for me. It’s sleek and elegant. And Santino likes it, which makes it even more of a win.

But everything else when it comes to the wedding hasn’t been so easy.

The cake discussion, for example.

Santino thought he could choose a cake without me, but no. I made sure to stay right by his side so he couldn’t steam roll me.

He wanted a lemon cake. Lemon! Who the hell wants lemon on their wedding day?

“It’s refreshing,” he told me. “Light. Airy. It’s a good cake choice.”
