“Take your clean clothes out and put them in a drawer. I emptied one for you. I’ll wash your clothes with some of mine.”

“Thanks.”

“And I was told no because after college I wanted to move out but didn’t have a job. It’s not like I had to pay to live in the house. West already was covering everything. I was going to watch it for him.”

Jace laughed and moved to the bathroom. “I’m sure he didn’t see it that way.”

“Nope. He told me to move back into reality. This place is nice anyway. I think it was a phase to be on my own. So there you go, we kept the house in the family. I think West couldn’t let it go because it’s the last place my father lived.”

“Is that why you wanted to live there?”

“No. I never thought of it that way. It never occurred to me until recently when I knew he was naming his son after our father.”

She didn’t think anyone was surprised that West did that. Nor the middle name being Abby’s father’s name.

It was a nice sentimental gesture.

“He was honoring your father,” he said.

“He was. I’ll stop talking. Strip and give me those clothes to wash.”

He squinted at her and started to undress. “You’re bossy.”

“Yes, I am. Go shower and come back here to get dressed. Maybe I’ve got a surprise for you.”

“What kind of surprise?”

He’d swapped his boots for sneakers in his truck, but toed them off now, then his socks. His damp shirt was lifted over his head and his dusty jeans pulled off with his underwear.

“I should have played some music and you could have done that slower like a construction worker on stage.”

“Not in your wildest dreams,” he said, laughing.

“Oh, I think I could convince you.”

He rolled his eyes and left to shower.

She picked his clothes up and grabbed some of hers out of the hamper, then tossed them in the washer and raced back to her room.

She quickly removed her T-shirt and shorts, then put on the little number she’d picked up in New York while she shopped with Jace in mind.

Ten minutes later, he walked into her room wrapped in a towel and she was lounging against the pillow on top of the bed.

“Fuck. You should have warned me.”

“I told you I missed you and had a surprise. What do you think?”

“I think you look both innocent and sexy at the same time.”

She hopped up on her knees. “That was the plan. Come here.”

Her arms were out, the pastel pink baby doll teddy was sheer and floating around her hips. He couldn’t see what she had under it.

A matching thong.

When he didn’t move that quickly and continued to stare, she put her hand on the bottom and glided the material up to give him a peek.

His towel dropped, his dick nice and firm, ready for action.
