“Many of the people from Lone Bite need psychological support,” he said. “I’m not a therapist, but I’ve been helping our professionals as much as possible by lending an ear to those with less severe issues who just need to talk. There are simply not enough specialists to cover all of our needs. We requested for more to be transferred to us from other packs, but so far, only two have arrived.”
“It’s not easy to attract therapists?” I gave him a curious look.
“It’s not, especially since some of the packs from our state look at us unfavorably now for annexing Lone Bite,” he sighed.
“That doesn’t sound good,” I said.
“Don’t worry, Pauline. It’s more of a problem for Ryder to handle. He’s an excellent diplomat and a strong fighter, you know. He’ll be able to regain the respect of the other packs,” Oliver smiled, though it faltered as he added, “It really pains me to see the extent of abuse that happened in your old pack.”
“It was ugly indeed,” I agreed.
“I want to help all those people, but some of them will take years to recover,” he sighed again.
“You can’t help everyone, though, Oliver,” I said firmly. “Not at the cost of your own health. You should rest from time to time.”
“I’m resting now,” he chuckled.
“Only because I invited you to dinner,” I said.
“You should do it more often then,” he winked at me. “Every time you wish me to be around, I’ll come running.”
“I may take you up on that offer,” I laughed.
“Tonight may not be the perfect time to address the matter, considering how tired I am, but I don’t want to postpone it any longer.” Suddenly, Oliver grew serious. “We’ve got something to discuss, don’t you think, Pauline?”
I had an inkling of what he meant, but I still played innocent. “Like what?”
“You saw the faint golden bond between us when we last got intimate with each other,” he gestured between us.
My heartbeat quickened, excitement bubbling in my soul. My wolf moved her ears and stood on full alert.
“We’re fated mates,” Oliver smiled softly. “I’m sorry that I didn’t realize the truth sooner.”
“Why are you apologizing? I didn’t realize either,” I shook my head. “But the amount of time we needed to find each other changes nothing about how I feel about you.” I took a deep breath. “I love you, Oliver, more than anyone in the world—well, except my son.”
“Well, I’d like Ray to be our son, if you’d allow it,” Oliver said.
“I would be overjoyed if you wanted to be his father,” I beamed.
“And I love you too. I’m sorry that I caused you pain in the past,” he sighed.
“It wasn’t intentional, I know that now,” I nodded.
“So you’re not still mad at me then?” He asked, giving me a pleading look.
I laughed, crossing my arms. “A little.”
“What can I do to make you forgive me?” He got up from his seat and made a dramatic bow in front of me.
I stood up, too, and walked up to Oliver. I took his hand and led him upstairs. “There’s a few things I can think of for starters.”
This time, when we hit his bedroom—our bedroom now—we immediately ripped off each other’s clothes. We couldn’t get each other naked quickly enough. I pulled at OIiver’s shirt so hard that a button came loose and went flying. He chuckled and pushed me down onto the bed gently. Then he grabbed my legs and shifted me toward the edge of the bed.
Oliver kneeled in front of me, his face in front of my pussy. He gave me a hooded, hungry look. “Today’s my turn,” he said.
I swallowed hard, anticipating what was about to happen.
I didn’t have to wait long. Oliver lowered his head and licked at my pussy folds. He put a finger inside me, pumping in and out while he sucked at my clit.
