“Maybe I like distracting you,” I wink, watching his face turn pink.
“Shut up.” He grumbles, knowing that I see his blush. I giggle while I continue to stare at him.
“It amazes me that Hel’s hottest, most confident man is also the one that blushes the easiest.” He raises his dark brow.
“Hottest, huh?” He smirks, and I shove his arm playfully.
“You know you are, so stop it. I mean, Ash is my brother, so… gross. Atlas is cute but too clean for me. Plus, his hyper positiveness, added to mine, would end all of humankind.”
“I can agree with that.”
“And Fox is, well…” I tap my chin in thought. I’m playing, of course, but I notice he stops his drink at his lips and waits for me to continue. Deciding to fuck with him, I shrug. “Okay, the second hottest man at Hel’s.” Derek snorts out a laugh.
“Fuck you.” He mutters as he takes a drink of his water. “And I don’t blush easily.”
“Really? Your cheeks are always pink when I’m talking to you.” He huffs.
“Trust me Darlin’, I’m well aware.”
Chapter17
Indy
Ho-ly shit…
I don’t know what is in the damn water over here or what deal Mr. and Mrs. Rowe made with a demon, but as I stand here staring at Derek’s brothers while they move blocks of hay… are they blocks? Shit, are they hay? I don’t know, it’s yellow and in a block form, but that’s not the point. The point is, they are fucking gods, and I am starting to see why everyone is into those polyamorous romance books.
“Well, goddamn,” the large man says as he looks over at us. His brown hair is up in a bun, and he is in a sweat-drenched grey t-shirt that hugs his thick body in all the right places. “Look who it is. City boy finally coming home.” Derek chuckles dryly at the man before speaking.
“Indy, this is my brother, Jackson. Jackson, Indy is the nurse helping until the permanent one arrives.” Jackson’s blueish eyes look me up and down before giving me a smile. He has really nice teeth.
“Tiny little thing, ain’tcha?” He chuckles while removing his gloves before letting out a whistle. “Get your dumbasses over here!” He yells, and I watch the two other men walk over. One has short dirty blond hair, while the other has lighter blond, tousled hair and a small smirk on his face. I also note that he is tall, well, they are all tall, but Derek stands like… six foot three or four if I remember what Janie said. This guy is a couple of inches taller than him. Said man charges toward Derek and hugs him tightly.
“Goddamn,” Derek grunts. “What the fuck are they feeding you?”
“Hoooly shit,” the one with dirty blond hair smirks while looking me over. I notice his eyes are a similar brown to Derek’s. “Well, now, ain’t you just the sweetest-looking drink of tea I’ve ever seen.”
I breathe out an embarrassed giggle because no one has ever flirted with me like that. “H-hi, I’m Indy.”
His hand slaps over his heart. “And a voice that was blessed by the fucking Lord himself, you must be an angel. Indy, I’m telling you right now that if you are what’s waiting in heaven, well, this sinner might just have to change his ways.”
Letting out an awkward “haaa”, I glance over to Derek just in time to see the look of murder on his face. Like, real murder. I’m actually genuinely concerned for the man in front of me.
“You must be Carter,” I smile, and apparently, that is a mistake.
“Mmm! Angel, you say my name like that, and you and I are going to–”
“Keep talking fuckstick.” Derek punches his laughing brother in the abdomen.
“I’m Jensen,” the tall one whispers as Derek and Carter continue to fight. I shake his large hand. “I would tell you that Carter is all talk, but he’s not. I mean, you’re safe, but he will try to get in your pants. He’s a hound.” I blush at the blunt way he speaks and am very thankful suddenly that Derek did come along.

I finish cleaningup Mr. and Mrs. Rowe—Mr. Rowe and Dorothy—before tidying up their nightstands. Mr. Rowe is a man of few words who wants nothing to do with my help. I actually feel a little bad for Ozzy, but she’s tough, and I know she’ll be able to handle him. I, on the other hand, may not even survive him. But Dorothy makes up for it. She’s a sweet woman who saw me and started crying because she just couldn’t handle her boys helping her bathe and use the bedpan anymore. But the crying that happened when she saw me was nothing compared to Derek coming in. That woman wailed and held Derek so tightly I thought she might come out of the bed.
“Hey there, pretty angel,” Carter smirks as I leave his parent’s bedroom. I let out a chuckle.
“You are shameless. You know that?” He gives me an “aw shucks” grin that I’m sure causes all the ladies to swoon.
