“What the hell did I miss? Why are you chugging multiple baby pints?”

Pea sneaks up from behind me with a beach ball in hand.

“I’m erasing my memory.”

I cough softly, turning to face her.

“O-kay…” she furrows her eyebrows, “I’m getting kind of bored. Play?”

She holds the ball out, pressing it against my stomach. She’s such a child.

“What? Prince Charming over there wasn’t exciting anymore?” I smirk.

“He was fun. Then he wasn’t.” She giggles softly, looking at him. “He said he only dates blondes. I’m not even a natural blonde.” She looks back at me, laughing entirely now.

I always loved her brunette hair. I’d been praying for the day she stopped thinking blonde makes her prettier. Itdidbring out hertan, though. She’s gorgeous either way. Her hair could be purple for all I care.

I half smile, “Yeah. Seems like a pinhead.”

“Okay, what’s the matter? Who killed your vibe, huh?” her smile leaves as she tilts her head.

“What? Nobodykilledmy vibe, okay? I’m simply… people watching.” I toss the two bottles in a little can nearby.

“Mhm. People watching,” she says, rolling her eyes.

Constantly fucking with me.

“Yep.” I say, staring in her giant brown orbs, snatching the ball from her, “People watching.”

“Stalker.” she she stares back.

“Punk ass.” a smile creeps upon my lips.

She grabs the ball, gripping it now, bringing us face-to-face.

“Ahem.” a bothered, squeaky voice appears beside us, 64

wearing big red curls.

“Yeah, can I help you?” I glance to see a meddling Darcy.

“You’re hogging the entrance, big shot.” she gestures to the sign beside us.

“Enter Here For a Drink”

We, indeed, were blocking the entrance.

“My bad,” I say, gently moving Paisley out of the way as I see Nick approaching us.

Fucking amazing.

“So, Paisley. I hear you left like two years ago. You’re only hanging around for the summer? Something about culinary school?” Darcy says, popping up from the cooler to face Pea.

“Sure. I left after you homewrecked my relationship.”

Paisley says, grasping her can with two hands now.
