“And?”
“And she’s only a friend, but I can’t stop thinking about her.”
“Remind me who said that men and women can’t be friends?” His thumb and index finger caress his stubbled chin. “Oh, right! You did.”
My throat constricts, and I hesitate before admitting, “She unsettles me. She’s hot as fuck and is oblivious to it. I think she’s attracted to me, but she’s guarded, secretive… kind of like you actually!” How can I be drawn to such a woman? Her looks are the least of her appeal; I can’t wrap my head around the pull that I feel for her. I don’t even fantasize about her plump lips wrapped around my dick, and that says a lot!
“The fact that you’re telling me abouthermeans that she unsettles you in a positive way, right?” I grumble my agreement. “Now, does she meanenoughto you to quit humping everything that moves like a dog in heat?”
“Classy! Seriously, though, you know that I’m faithful at heart, Virgil.” He nods again; at least, my relationship with Fanny proved that much. “If she wants me…” I trail off.
“Since when do you care about what others want?”
“Fair point. The answer is: I don’t know. I told you, it’s different. She’s different.”
“And what could possibly stand between your driven self and your female friend who’s so utterly perfect for you that you’re willing to gamble this newfound friendship to see if she’s your soulmate?” See, I told you Virgil gets me.
“Her boyfriend.”
