Wade practically whimpered, but said, “I’ll take a rain check.”He kissed my neck.
“Okay,” I laughed as he kept grinding against me.
Wade spoke into the crook of my neck, “No, Sissy.I’m serious.I want you. You’ve got to promise me that after we rescue your friend, you’ll invite me over.”
“Promise you?I don’t know.”It was one thing to go with the flow, but with everything happening, I didn’t feel quite comfortable verbalizing my intentions with him. With anyone.
“Promise me, Sissy.Or I’ll have to finish you right here on this dirty floor.”
I laughed again as he laid kisses on my shoulder.“I promise, okay.”
“Promise, what?”
“I promise you can come over once we’re safely back in Creepy.”
“And what?”
“You can finish this then.”
Wade sat me down, but he didn’t let me go.He planted another kiss on me, one that made me swoon and made me want to keep my promise. When he stepped away, we both straightened ourselves.
“You ready?”He asked once we made it back to the car.
“There’s no way I can drive in these boots, and I’ve never operated one of those,” I spoke of the Harley, complaining.
“We’ll have to leave the car here.”We were technically in Dillon’s territory, but we weren’t close enough to downtown, yet.
It wasn’t ideal, but I popped the trunk so we could trade our street clothes and backpacks for our weapons.
We each threw on a rifle for show and protection.Wade mounted the hog, and I followed.Draping my arms around his middle, I glanced back at Creepy wondering if I’d ever see it again.
“Here, you need to wear this helmet.”
“Oh, right.”I took it and shifted to try to push my hair up into it.I stuffed and stuffed until my hair disappeared.
“You ready?”
I felt my pockets, making sure I had everything.“Crap.I’ve got to leave the keys in the car.”It took some doing, getting off the bike in the boots.I fished for my big ring of keys and started to take off my car keys.
“Damn it, girl, that’s a lot of keys. You should leave them all here. You might lose them.”
Right.Wade was right, but I still separated the car keys and left them under the seat.I popped the trunk to stuff the rest into my backpack.Bending over, I opened my pack to zip them away inside. But first, I thought enough to get my house keys.I had several since I’d added a couple of dead bolts and had to count to find the right ones. There were four and they started at number twelve from the newest key to my stash at the Jules’ Estate. In my head, I counted once and then again to be sure and put the keys in my pocket with the medicine.Rising, I glanced over expecting to see an impatient Wade, but he laid on the concrete like he’d been knocked right off the motorcycle. Before I could run, someone shoved me from behind, shoved me right inside the trunk.A man took my rifle. Before I could tell who it was, the butt of the gun came down on my head.I’m not sure which shut first the trunk or my eyes.
