Caine killed two more Coven members while the rest fled. I looked at Dalton saying, “That fuck ass Coven doesn’t get to escape. They don’t get to crawl back to any sort of safety.” Dalton agreed, “No they fucking don’t because we will get them.” I nodded to him.

Chase said, “Sophia is ready on the other side. Their Warriors are ready.” Lexi spoke, “As are the Hood. The remaining Coven members won’t get away, I promise.” I didn't care what they were going to do. Dalton and I locked eyes sharing an understand that those Coven members would die at our hands.

Caine picked up Melanie while KJ hovered behind them having their six. My mate’s hand went to her side. I couldn’t tell if the bullet had broken through her vest. Caine got Melanie to cover with KJ taking down a few straggling Coven members.

Yellow Hills Warriors covered Dax as he took Paige to cover. Caine yelled, “Celia, get over here.” A woman came running. Emmett sighed, “So, not only is there another Alpha and Beta in my territory without notice, but they also brought friends. Goodie.” Just the one, so it wasn’t plural that we knew of.

Caine checked Melanie’s vest. He told her, “Just take a deep breath, Mel. Come on.” My mate was trying. EJ linked me, “Your eyes are freaking our Warriors the hell out. They are VERY Gold.” I retorted, “So the fuck what? So are yours. Maybe yours are freaking them out.” EJ snorted out loud.

Paige was still chanting, oblivious to her surroundings. Dax called over coms, “Melanie look at your mate, and take a deep breath. Your Xander absolutely wants you to keep breathing.” Melanie’s eyes found mine and she finally took a deep breath.

My fists were curled, and my nails were drawing blood. Dylan snorted “Her Xander, how adorable.” He yelled, “Around these here parts we call him Moody Mini Alpha Prick. He’s working on the longer full title his dad has, just give him time. We believe in him. He’ll rise to Moody Mini Saint God Alpha Prick status. I just feel it. I speak for the collective group on that one as well.”

Dax howled with laughter and even Abigial snickered. She’d been stationed with him. I was focused on Melanie who was still looking at me I didn’t see where my Gamma’s mate was. Celia growled at her, “It’s just been so quiet at home. There has not been a single stabbing or gunshot wound. Not a single one.” Melanie snorted, “You missed me, didn’t you?”

Celia raised an eyebrow, “You have cracked ribs on that same side I told you to guard. You have scar tissue from them not allowing you to heal from being shot.” My mom sighed, “Well, I can fucking heal it now that I know about it.”

Melanie winced, “Uncracked ribs are for boring people.” I growled, “THE FUCK THEY ARE!” Oden growled in agreement. Celia rolled her eyes, “Pup, I swear to god you give me grey hair.” Melanie tapped her nose, “You love me.”

Melanie then looked at Caine ordering, “Help me up.” He instantly put my mate on her feet, and she took several deep breaths. Celia sighed, “I suppose telling you not to do anything else would be a waste of time.” Melanie took her vest off and held her hand out for the rifle on Caine’s back.

She looked at Celia, “I’m glad you know that.” Ceila groaned, “I just feel the gray growing into my hair and it will be your fault.” Melanie hummed, “Scientifically that’s not possible. I checked your genetics. So you won’t get gray hair any time soon despite…the constant claims you will get some because of me.” Celia smirked shaking her head.

Melanie turned to look at Caine, “I’ll take the rest of the Hunters out. It’s not just rogues, he’s here.” Caine sighed, “Yeah, I figured he was.” I yelled, “HE WHO?!” Oden linked me, “Freya can sense an Alpha in the tree line that isn’t our ally. Another pack is here.” I growled, “WHAT?!”

I turned to Emmett, “Is Allister Thunders saying anything about another pack?” Emmett closed his eyes and linked Allister, they were good friends. Sophia and Lexi had a lot of play dates with their sons. Emmett said, “He’s looking…” Then he trailed off. He shouted, “FUCK! His Warriors smell a pack now. Their scent was hidden by rogues.”

I snarled, “And my mate knows who it is. Great.” Gage muttered, “Sarcasm noted.” Emmett growled, “Any Alpha who thinks they can take over my territory because they have some dome fucking shit has got another damn think coming.” Yes, they did.

I turned to Corbin, “How long until we get in there?” Corbin was looking up at the roof of the house Melanie must have climbed. Shots began to ring out. Corbin sighed, “Paige is moving pretty fast. Her friends have re-surrounded her in salt. That should make things faster, but as fast as your mate is snipping people off it could get dicey. Can we talk about her sniping abilities for five seconds?”

Cayden answered, “No.” Corbin sighed, “Ok then, as quick as Melanie is killing Hunters, I seriously doubt that we are getting in there before the rogues come out to fight.” I snarled, “FUCKING FABULOUS! SOMEONE HAD BETTER BE ALIVE WHEN I GET IN THERE BECAUSE I NEED TO KILL SOME PEOPLE! Why can’t the shadows take you inside?”

Corbin answered, “The dome is Witch and Warlock magic, and they respect that. They also respect the hell out of Paige.” Fabulous. Useless fucking shadows. I linked EJ, “If all those fuckers are dead when we get in there, I’m GOING to need you find me people to kill. Like a lot of fucking people.” That statement had never been more true.

EJ nodded, “I can do that. We have an ally with rogue problems. You’d be just what they need to stop them.” I nodded knowing he was right since I was beyond pissed. These assholes had shot my mate. I’d seen her get shot. She literally dove in front of a bullet.

Melanie’s voice came over the coms, “Ok... the Hunters are taken out. Let’s get ready guys. Time to show these rogues who they are messing with. Then I get to go another round with the sore losing… not really Alpha, but he goes by the title.”

Caine snorted, “He goes by said title because he’s an Alpha, Mel.” Melanie sighed, “Agree to disagree. He doesn’t deserve the title, therefore... he’s not really an Alpha in my books…which I have told him…many times.” I closed my eyes. I’d get in there by god, and when I did Melanie and I would unleash hell.

Hold The Line

Melanie ran out of the back of the shed with a bag of ammo and guns for the group. Dax smiled asking, “Isn’t it better this way because there is cover? Instead of you know, you being bait.” I rolled my eyes at him. My watch beeped once, then again, a second time.

Dax raised an eyebrow questioning, “Who joined our coms?” I flicked through options before I answered, “Cayden and Jason.” Dax snorted, “It took them long enough. Particularly Cayden.” I replied, “That’s not fair. He’s not a tech guy…. besides, I think Addie told them about our coms and they realized they’ve had them the whole time….plus the whole mom monster cookie thing…he’s probably mad…let’s never mention…this ever.”

Dax raised an eyebrow teasing, “I think I’ll mention it. I also love that they think you can’t just put us on a different channel.” I smiled, “Well, there’s no problem with them being on them right now.” Dax laughed, “They just aren’t ready for you, Mel.” I grumbled, “They probably figured out I have GPS trackers on them too.”

Dax laughed, “I bet Elise doesn’t know. Or your Xander and Alpha EJ. I doubt they know that you can track them too if you so choose.” I stopped running to gape at him. Freya snickered, “Of course he figured that out, he’s a Beta wolf.”

Dax wiggled his eyebrows, “Aww, come on. I know you put trackers on that ring you gave your Xander. I remember when Hendrick asked you about the ring your mate wears. You said you gave it to him. It stands to reason you did it to EJ’s wedding ring too.” I flushed.

Dax clapped, “I knew it!” I sighed, “Well… it... I… theirs aren’t as sophisticated, but I can track them. It was…. for safety reasons… and helped me send Hendrick…. to the right places. Fairies can pop… knowing their location is helpful.” Dax laughed, “Uh huh.”

We met up with Caine and gave him the weapons. Hendrick ran up announcing, “Paisley is here.” I said, “Umm… well she lives here so….” Hendrick rephrased, “Over here as in Yellow Hills.” I gasped, “What? Why? She’s in the Conners pack.”

Hendrick shrugged, “I saw her trying to get through to us, but she can’t. Without more than a knife, I couldn’t get her to us either. She’s close to the border. Which, by the way, is where your mate is standing, Mel. Paisley’s cut off from us by rogues and she can’t take them all alone.”
