“Was that necessary?” I asked him, swallowing down the sticky sensation in my throat as everyone started up in conversation.

“Nope,” he said, staring at me with an intensity that made me feel shy.

“Your girl hey?” I said next, my tone low and serious. He nodded slowly like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Were you planning on talking to me about this?” I asked him quietly and he shook his head no, just as slow.

The air around us was suffocating and hot.

“You don’t seem too mad about it,” he said after a moment.

The problem was I loved it.

It made me feel giddy and watched.

Van pulled the truck into a vacant spot on the street and killed the engine, “everyone get the fuck out, I have a date.”

I pushed the door open and climbed from the truck with Jensen on my heels, his hands found my hips and he pulled me against his chest nuzzling his nose against my neck.

“I’ve never been to a frat party,” I confessed and Jensen snorted. “What?”

“Adeline Sarah, rugby prodigy, has never been to a frat party?” He mumbled as his lips found the space behind my ear, he inhaled my shampoo without shame and spun me around in his arms, continuing to walk us across the lawn toward the loud house.

“I have something to tell you,” I said, biting down on my lips and dragging his gaze to them. “I’m a massive nerd.”

“You?” He laughed, his hands splayed out on my back as we came to a stand still. I didn’t give two seconds to the commotion around us when he was staring at me like that. It was like the world faded away when he locked in on me, my heart raced, my breath shortened, thoughts dissipated. He made me stupid in love without even being aware of his effect on me and I hated him for it.

“What kind of nerd?” He lowered his voice and leaned closer, tugging our hips together.

“The worst kind,” I whispered, stealing a kiss that made him smile and turned me even further into a puddle. “A smart nerd, I didn’t care about parties.”

“That must have killed Keegan,” Jensen laughed quietly, his tone low and husky. It was just for me and him.

“It did,” I said back, “she tried every night to get me out of the house but I’d rather be there in bed, with the ugliest fuzzy socks and reruns of Jeopardy.”

“I should have seen this coming,” he said.

“Oh yeah?” I scoffed.

“You play Dungeons and Dragons once a week with your friends, it was pretty obvious you were a dork, I was thinking like Milhouse dorky…not Lisa Simpson,” Jensen teased.

“Wow,” I gasped and shoved him away playfully, but he caught my wrist and pulled me back, his mouth colliding with mine as his hands wrapped around my waist, holding me in place. I tilted my chin up to him as he deepened his grip on my lips and his tongue slid into my mouth, allowing the world to fade away around us. I wanted to live in that bubble forever, his hands on me, our bodies pressed so tightly together you couldn’t tell where one began and the other ended.

I sighed against his lips as he retreated, not wanting him to leave.

“If I don’t take you inside, you’ll never experience your first frat party,” he groaned.

“Why’s that?” I asked with a tiny breath.

Jensen wrapped his hands around my face, pressing my hair into my cheeks and bringing his face close to mine. “Because I’m so fucking hard right now I’m half tempted to take you to the closest quiet corner just to get a moment of peace,” he said.

“Romantic,” I giggled and he huffed loudly in frustration but stole another kiss before I could grumble against his lips. “Take me inside.”

SARAH

All of my suspicions were correct. I hated parties.

Even with Jensen close the noise levels were insane and every drunk person that bumped into me activated my fight response. Every time I whirled on someone, Jensen laughed and straightened me out.

Jensen was determined to get me dancing and it wasn’t so bad. I liked the way his body felt against mine and everyone was so busy with themselves that no one noticed the loverboy glances he threw my way. The music was still too loud and the people too drunk but it was easier to distract myself with Jensen’s hands engulfing me possessively. Eventually Todd turned up, pissed off and looking for a drink but Jensen just laughed at him when he tried to start shit.
