“Everyone knows that Cael is in the top five,” the redhead said but her friend clearly disagreed.

“If Van Mitchell didn’t have a girlfriend he’d be number one,” she said.

“Cael Cody has a girlfriend…” one of the others added and the redhead scoffed. “You’re all sleeping on the catcher,” she said.

“Jensen?” The brunette grumbled. “He’s a playboy and way too cocky for a catcher,” she said and I had it in my right mind to turn around and let them know exactly how I felt about their assessment of my favorite Hornet.

Instead I shoved aside my jealousy and pulled out my phone. Their rankings didn’t matter much anyways, not when I had direct contact with my number one.

We really need to work on your public image. You’re being left behind in the Hottest Hornets rankings.

I giggled and shoved the phone in my pocket, ignoring the next two buzzes as the door opened and players started to flood out into the parking lot. The group of girls immediately turned on their best smiles and turned to where some of the players piled into a line to wave.

I heard Jensen before I saw him, his laughter loud above the rest as he walked backward play-fighting with Van Mitchell. There was a cheesy grin on his face and his hair was damp from showering. It was stupid, but he had the ability to take my breath away.

I stuck to fingers between my lips and whistled loudly, catcalling his pathetically adorable ass like a sexually frustrated fiend. His eyes moved around the crowd, landing on me eventually and I scrunch my nose up at him as he pushed through the line of players toward me. His smile grew with each step and it set fireworks off across my chest.

“How’s this for public image,” he practically purred, dropping his bag to the ground, his arms wrapping me up and lifting me off the ground. His lips found my neck and jaw as he bombarded my skin with kisses and I giggled to get free of his grip.

“Put me down!” I tugged on his damp hair and he lowered me to the ground.

Once my toes were touching the concrete I pushed his face toward mine and stole a kiss before he could protest otherwise. I had been extremely patient waiting for one all week and I wasn’t going to be denied just because we were in public. A camera flashed and I could feel his smile against my mouth as I relaxed my grip and lowered completely to my flat feet.

“You’re going to get us put in the school paper,” Jensen whispered, his teeth grazing my bottom lip.

“Well we might as well give them front page news,” I chuckled as his fingertips dug into my hip and he stole one more heated, languid kiss that left my knees weak. But he wasn’t finished because he ran his mouth over my jaw to my ear.

“I’m taking that jersey back tonight, with or without your help,” he whispered, my toes curling in my shoes at the thought of it.

I swallowed tightly peering up at him through my lashes as he pulled away, his hand cupping my jaw and his criminally soft brown eyes watching me with the most lustful intentions. His chest rose slowly as he wet his bottom lip andfinally broke our eye contact. He looked around at the guys, signing calendars and photos, while my eyes fell on the group of girls who had been talking about him earlier.

The brunette's mouth was open in shock and I couldn’t help myself but give her a petty wink as Jensen finally let go of my waist. He was looking for someone, his back angled away from me but his hand still hovering close to my thigh as he looked.

“Hey,” he called out to Van when he finally found him, “you got room in your truck for Adeline?”

Van looked at me over and smiled, “I always got room for Addy, she’ll have to play lap monkey if she’s coming to Delta though,” he said, breaking focus to take a picture with a young boy.

“Think you can keep your hands to yourself for five minutes?” He turned back to me and I shook my head. Jensen huffed a quiet, “brat”under his breath but scooped up his bag from the ground and linked his hand in mine.

Once the crowd had thinned out and most of the guys had started to filter out to the parking lot Jensen led me over to Van’s truck that was already packed with bodies.

“Fuck off Todd, get in the bed,” Jensen grumbled, grabbing one of the guys who aimed to steal the last spot in the cab.

“Why don't you and…” Todd paused to give me a dirty look and Jensen slapped a hand to his face.

“Don’t finish that sentence if you're about to insult her,” he warned. I’d never been one to need a guy to stand up for me but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t immediately turned on by the sight of Jensen doing so for the most minimal of insults. The guy hadn’t even said anything yet.

“I was going to do the opposite,” he laughed as Jensen’s hand tensed around his jaw. “I was gonna tell her she could trade up and sit in my lap if she wanted a ride to Delta.”

I waited for Jensen to lose it but the explosion never came. He looked over his shoulder at me, his hand still tightly wrapped in mine and smiled.

“Hey Van,” Jensen said, turning his attention away from me and Van turned around in the driver's seat, “You think Todd needs some exercise? He was looking sloppy out there today”

“Sloppy is being nice… he could go for a run,” Van called back with a shrug and turned back around starting the engine of the massive truck.

“You heard Van, have a good run.” Jensen looked Todd over before shoving him out of the way and climbing into the truck with his hand out to me. I gave him a sympathy smile before using the step to haul myself up into Jensen’s lap. “Keep your eyes off my fucking girl, Todd.” Jensen slammed the door in his face and Van pulled out of the parking lot.

My girl. The temperature rose in the cab and I could feel the tingling sensation that swirled around in the base of my stomach as his hand gripped the tattoo on my thigh, his fingers sinking between. I pushed my fingers into the back of his hair, just needing to ground myself to keep from spreading my legs for him like I was in heat. Waiting for him to make the first move was going to kill me, I just knew it.
