I help Dean take the coolers up to his cabin, while he carries the fish on a tray. When all of us are seated around the table, Dean takes off into the living room for a few moments, bringing back a box that I recognize immediately.
“Oh, shit. Not that game…” I sigh as he places the box down on the table with a smirk on his face.
“I’ve never played that before,” Nikki says, pulling the box toward her.
“There’s a first time for everything.” Dean smiles, bringing back the thoughts I just had about Nikki sucking him off.
Christ, what is with me?
We all dish out our own food and once we’re done eating, we move to the living room, seating ourselves in a circle around the game.
What game is it, you ask?
Bad Choices—The Have You Ever edition. Of course, Dean owns the “After Dark” edition too. I’m really not sure why or how he has it.
Nikki then reaches for the instruction pamphlet and starts to read the rules out loud.
“Each player is dealt six cards…” she pauses, grabbing the deck of cards from inside the box. “The remaining cards are left face-down as a draw pile…”
“Hand them out, baby,” Sammi giggles.
Nikki starts to hand the cards out one by one, her eyes filled with excitement and anticipation.
When she’s done and we all have our six cards, she places the rest in the middle and continues reading the rest of the instructions.
“On a players turn, they choose one of their six cards and ask another player the question written on that card. If the player answers yes, the card can be discarded.”
“This might get us all in trouble…” Jeremy snickers as he picks his cards up one by one and reads them.
Nikki hushes him and continues to read. “Answers must be honest and either yes, or no.” She begins to laugh. “This sounds like a setup.”
“It is,” Sammi chuckles, picking her own cards up off the floor.
“The first player to discard all of their cards is the winner,” she continues.
“I think we need some drinks,” Dean suggests as he stands to walk into the kitchen.
Normally, I’d be perfectly fine with this, but my relationship with Nikki is brand new and there’s still a whole lot we don’t know about each other. This is like a giant tell-all session and I’d be lying if I said it didn’t make me slightly anxious.
Dean comes back into the room with a bottle of wine and two wine glasses for the girls and a few beers for us guys.
I grab one of the bottles of beer and open it right away, chugging over half of it down in one go. “I think we might need something stronger than beer,” I say as I set it down beside me on the floor.
“You’ll be fine, baby,” Nikki says, wrapping her arms around me.
“Let’s hope,” I smirk.
“I have secrets too, you know…”
“Oh?” I tease, rubbing my hand along her thigh.
“Yeah, I’m quite the bad-ass, actually.”
“Okay, who goes first?” Sammi asks.
“I think you should…” Nikki slyly grins.
Sammi narrows her eyes and carefully scans the cards in her hand. Then, she pulls one from the middle and looks up at Nikki with an amused look on her face.
