Just then, the same nurse as before comes back into the room with a small file folder in her hands. “Guess who can finally go home…” she announces as she walks over to Nikki and shuts off the machine feeding her IV.
Once she’s done removing the line from her hand, she hands Nikki the papers and a pen.
“So—she just needs to take it easy, hey?” I ask the nurse while Nikki signs her name.
“Yes. The doctors only concern is the laceration on her head. If she has any intolerable headaches or pain at the location, she should come back in immediately,” she advises.
“I’ll make sure to keep a close eye on her.” I smile as Nikki hands the papers back to the nurse.
Of course, before we head back to her house, we stop by Sammi’s room.
