I didn’t know they got help from Badass. Looking around the table, I see confused looks so I’m not the only one. Jinx jumps in. “We could pull Shultz in and I’ll set up a training schedule for him. He’s military, he won’t benefit from half the shit he’s training for right now.”
Cort nods. “I like that. His first stats show him already out ahead. Let’s do that. It frees up his days. I want every trainer giving him an hour a week. Let’s get him up where he belongs without the redundancy. He does need training daily, but he would do it anyway. He’s too ripped to not be training. Jinx, handle his file and make sure it happens, Brother.”
So, Flight Training is settled that quick. I’m glad everything isn’t tabled here. I need to be able to do the job without obstacles. We’re dismissed and Falcon shows me his tablet. “Today at four in Web’s wing. You need thumb access. He’ll square it. Freedom and Mounty are in too.”
“Thanks. I need to cover Ops.”
“No, Brother. You’ve got it down. Hade told Cort last night that you didn’t need to shadow. I messed with the meeting and it got dropped. You can set training for Ops whenever you want.”
I nod. “I need the station up.”
Web moves closer. “The As and IT are getting it up now. It was on their list today. I got your print from Ops. I wanted to let you know I have IT set for Security and Ops. It will go out on Friday like the Brothers. With Falcon gone, I’ll add you as the contact we use. Everything that goes out from us for Security gets copied to you. Falcon is nosy, but you’re like them, so I’ll set it before you ask.”
I laugh. “Thanks, Brother. I would ask.”
His eyes roll before he walks away, but he’s smiling. I take my old cut and look around. The box from the new one is against the wall. Without thinking, I put it on the table and wrap the old cut in the paper, then cover it. I don’t keep much, but this is worth keeping. When I turn, Cort, VP and Hade are watching. I shrug. “It’s important.”
VP laughs. “It is. Falcon is coming to dinner tonight. Come over around six. We can get your questions answered and you'll hear about the pool party we’re having.”
Cort’s head nods, but it’s slight. I nod hoping this isn’t the night Freedom is free. “I will, thanks, VP.”
I follow them out. In my office I look at the walls, the feeling of being home again hasn’t left, but it doesn’t show here. I call the young Cowboy and ask for something to put my cut in and a picture of the logo they have on the walls here for my office. He’ll handle it. With that done, I jump into the training schedule to make sure everything is covered.

Freedom
He’s going to be pissed, but I need to do this. Juanita is leaving for a month. This is not something I can blow off. She came and found me to let me know it’s important. The fucking shit that keeps prolonging our hooking up is annoying, but I like knowing stress isn’t turning him into an ass. My phone alerts me to a Phoenix text.
I read it twice. I’m not going to be able to tell him about dinner. At least not in person. What the hell does Web want to meet with me for? Maybe his As want training. I text Ranger that I have a meet at four and a dinner meet. Not knowing what will happen with Lorelei and Daniel, I don’t offer a later option. Lorelei will be fine, it’s Daniel I’m worried about. Taking one of his regular contacts away could set him off.
I get to the Training Center to meet my new class. These are Enforcer Trainees from Nevada. Stepping out in my Gi has the trainees talking. Seren is waiting with Nance, an Enforcer. She looks cute in her Gi when she bows to me.I return it and we walk onto the mat.
“This should be fun,” one of the trainees says.
“What’s your name, trainee?” I ask, not willing to put up with shit today.
He stands, getting shit from the other trainees. “Demo.” He says it like he’s proud.
“Come to the front and you can show them how you got that name.”
Nance has his gun pointed toward the trainees. The Enforcer Team moves away from the wall with guns readied. I’m glad there are only the three. Demo moves closer with a smile on his face. It makes me wonder if hurting women is a fetish or past-time. I’ll have to warn Hade about this one. That ought to be fun.
As his hand raises from his side, I move quickly using aTaekwondo kick then a Kyushu Jitu pressure point move, sliding my fingers to the inside of his upper lip and pressing down, then moving it side to side. It’s known for being a painful way to take someone down, but it’s quick and makes my point. Demo is on the floor within three seconds.
Seren explains what I did. “That was a taekwondo kick and Kyushu Jitu pressure point move called the GV-26. Freedom is your Krav Maga trainer. She is a level five black belt. She’s also a black belt in jujitsu, taekwondo and judo. She does teach karate if you’re interested. Mixed martial arts is her specialty. Krav Maga is what she’s known for. Anyone else want to challenge her because she’s a woman? Demo isn’t up for another go.” I’d smile, but don’t want to set the trainees off, but Seren is cute.
“What the fuck!?”
I roll my eyes as Hade walks toward us. Seren turns with a smile, but her eyes say she isn’t feeling it. “Demo was talking shit, but he stopped.”
Hade shakes his head. “Did she kill him too?”
I turn fast. “I didn’t kill the last one. I told them he needed the hospital and they didn’t listen.”
Hade glares at me then Seren. She steps closer to me and I’m pissed. I feel the vibe change and need him gone. “Get the fuck away from me and my class with your asinine opinions.” I move in between her and Hade.
“Hade!”Thank fuck for Falcon. I look up at the landing. He throws chin smiling. “Ops is covering.”
