Electricity crackles in my palm as a warning.
Jayden’s grip on my knee tightens. “We can get there quicker; I just need you guys to help me watch out for the police.”
I turn back to the front and stare out the windshield, scanning the highway for any sign of police as we pull out onto the main road.
Thankfully, Draven is quiet for once. I slump back in my seat. The drive is silent so I turn on the radio and hum along to the pop song that’s playing.
Raven peeks her head between the seats. “I would say we should call him, but I kind of want to surprise him.”
Adrian shakes his head. “You don’t want to call him. He’s on an important phone call. That’s the only reason we have a shot to catch him. He’s running late.”
“Okay, that’s settled then.” Raven grins.
Jayden pulls off the highway toward Greyson’s house and I fidget in my seat again, praying to the gods that we won’t be too late.
All is quiet as we drive through pack lands and park in front of his house. I’m just glad the damn boar isn’t here trying to take him out again. We never did figure out why the damn thing went after him.
Who knew about Greyson and that we needed him for that mission? Did they think he was weaker than us because he’s a shifter and not a demigod? An easy target to stop us from getting the students back?
I hop out of the car just as Raven’s door flies open and she sprints up the walkway to the ranch-style house.
The door opens before she gets to it and Greyson steps out. Shock coats his features as his eyebrows raise to his hairline.
“You have a new mission or are you all just here to visit?” He grabs Raven around the waist and lifts her into his arms.
“We have a mission,” she says and kisses him hard.
I glance away, giving them privacy, and Draven scoffs.
Greyson breaks the kiss but doesn’t release Raven from his hold. “Well, come in, then. I don’t think it’s a good idea to have a bunch of demigods on my lawn.”
We follow as Greyson carries Raven into the house. I take a seat at the end of the couch and Jayden plops down next to me. Close enough that no one can squeeze between us. Draven scowls but keeps his mouth shut.
“You guys just got back from the underworld a few weeks ago. What is it this time? Did Hera lose her sacred cows?” Greyson laughs.
Raven slaps a hand over his mouth. “Do not invoke the name of the crazy evil stepmother.”
“Sorry,” he mumbles behind her hand.
Raven removes her hand from his mouth and kisses him again.
They are too fucking cute.
“Students are going missing again,” I say softly.
“My brothers,” Raven whispers.
“Shit,” Greyson says and pulls her closer. “I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay. We will get them back,” Raven says.
“So, are you just here for a visit, or do I need to go pack?” Greyson asks and adjusts Raven on his lap.
“We need your help, but we still aren’t exactly sure how we’re all gonna fit.” I lean forward with my elbows on my knees.
“You didn’t think about that before you left the academy?”
“We were halfway here before Adrian got a vision of you helping us on this.” I glance at Adrian.
