“Can you show us where this is and then get the hell out of there quickly?” I turn to Randall.

“You want us to leave a bunch of kids to fight those things on your own?” Randall asks, shocked.

“Tristian had no problem standing back and watching us defeat a giant-ass snake to help him.”

“Tristian isn’t much older than you lot and he’s a selfish prick.” Randall crosses his arms over his chest.

“Look, nothing you or your wolves do is going to stop these things. They can’t be killed in the traditional sense.”

Jayden’s gaze snaps to mine. “How do we defeat them, then?”

“Just like the big ugly boar.”

Greyson shudders at the memory of the fucking Erymanthian Boar chasing him and his wolves around their pack lands.

“We don’t have a place out in the mountains to trap them though,” Greyson says.

“We don’t need to trap them somewhere.” I grin. “We just need to catch them.”

“That’s easier said than done.” Greyson mumbles.

“We’ve got this.” Raven bumps her shoulder with mine.

“I still don’t know about this.” Randall glances around at all of us.

“Fine,” I huff. “We’ll find it ourselves.”

I turn and walk back down the stairs. I’ve had enough of thisyou’re kids, you can’t do anything bullshithe’s spewing.

“Wait, I’ll show you where it is,” Randall calls out.

I turn and wait for everyone to catch up and find Jayden was right behind me. “How are we going to catch them?”

“Jason just had to lasso them. It can’t be that hard, right?” I ask.

“They breathe fire, Beth.” Jayden grips my hips and pulls me closer.

“That’s why I have this.” I point to the shadow charm that Hades gave me with a grin.

“Good point. You have the shield of Hades himself.”

“Could you two stop making out,” Raven yells. “We have bulls to catch.”

“Fuck off, Raven,” Jayden growls but he releases me.

We all pile into the SUV and follow the alpha’s pickup truck down a bumpy mountain road. The scent of smoke and ash fills the SUV.

Orange flames flicker in the distance the closer we get to the destroyed area the bulls are rampaging in.

“Why are they here terrorizing a pack of shifters? It doesn’t make any sense,” I ask as I stare at the forest.

“I’m not sure. You would think they would have come for us when we left the academy. Why would they stay here?” Jayden tightens his grip on my thigh.

“Why send the boar after Greyson? Are the shifters important? Who knows what they are thinking,” I grumble and lean back in my seat with a huff. “We don’t even know who’s behind all of this.”

A deafening boom fills the quiet SUV as a tree slams into the ground in front of Randall’s truck.

“Fuck, I hope there aren’t any dryads around.” I flinch.
