“Nope, but I don’t think I want to know. Is Rebecca gonna lose her shit when she sees this bill?” I widen my eyes.
“I’m almost afraid to open the doors,” Raven says with a frown.
Jayden takes the key from me and swipes it along the panel on the door and pushes them open wide. “Shit. We are going to be in trouble.”
“This isn’t a suite,” Adrian says, staring at the modern furnishings. “It’s more like a loft. What did you guys ask for?”
Black-and-white-checkered tiles with pops of color throughout the living area give the room a modern feel. I grimace.
This is way too expensive.
“We said we needed a suite that would sleep six people.” I stare at the floor-to-ceiling windows.
“Well, it’s too late now,” Jayden says. “We’ll just have to get comfortable and hope Rebecca doesn’t kill us when we get back.”
“If we get back,” Draven mumbles.
“When, fuckwit.” Raven turns her glare on him. “We don’t put that negative energy into the universe.”
“Whatever, Raven.” He moves into the space and flops down on one of the brown leather chairs in the living area.
“Let’s see if we can find the phone in this place. There has to be one.” Raven grabs Greyson’s arm and pulls him away.
I wander down the hall with Jayden, in search of the bedrooms to put my bag in so I’m not carrying it around. We find a room at the end of a hall with black and white stripes going down the wall and splashes of teal that make the décor pop.
The space is light and airy with a king-size bed and a white armchair in the corner. I flop on the chair and tilt my head back.
“What are we going to do, Jayden?” I ask. “Everything is so fucked. They’re already calling for a massive world war. What if we’re too late?”
“We can’t think about that, baby. We have to stay positive. I know you just want to keep moving but you can barely hold your eyes open.” Jayden pushes a stray lock of hair behind my ear and caresses my cheek with his fingers.
“I know, but between the war on the horizon and the bulls terrorizing Colorado, I just want to hurry up and do something.”
“I get that, but we need to be smart too.” Jayden picks me up in his arms and then sits in the chair with me on his lap.
“I know and we still don’t even know if the wolf pack wants our help. Hopefully they agree for us to go through their territory at least.” I lean my head on Jayden’s shoulder and a yawn escapes.
“You think Artemis will take no for an answer?” Jayden chuckles.
“Probably not.” I grin.
She’ll tell the stubborn wolves to grow the fuck up and let us help. They don’t have the abilities that we do.
“B? Jayden?” Raven calls from the living room.
Jayden picks me up with him when he stands, and I wiggle for him to put me down.
“Wiggle all you want, baby. I’m not putting you down.” He kisses the side of my neck and strides from the room.
“What is it?” I ask as Jayden carries me into the living room and sits in the chair across from Draven.
Draven scoffs like we are personally offending him and I roll my eyes before turning my focus back on Raven and Greyson.
They are cuddling together on the couch and so adorable they are hard to look at.
Greyson leans forward, his elbows on his knees, and sighs. “It’s just as Artemis says. They are being attacked by some crazy demented bulls that breathe fire and are indestructible.”
“What did he say though?” I ask.
