Raven steps forward, fisting her hands at her sides. “What about shifters? What will it do to Greyson?”
Artemis’ eyes snap to Greyson and a sad look fills her eyes. “You won’t be quite wolf anymore, but you won’t be human either. You have been touched by the gods now and monsters will be after you as much as true demigods.”
“Fuck.” Greyson runs a hand through his hair. “I’ll put my pack in danger.”
Artemis nods solemnly, her eyes filled with pain.
Raven squeezes Greyson’s biceps and he turns to her. “We will figure this out once we save the world again.”
Jayden wraps his arm around my waist. “What do you need help with?”
“The bronze bulls are making a mess in the wilds of Colorado and harassing my wolves. I need you to travel there to stop them.”
“But we are on a time crunch here. Ares is weakening and if we don’t hurry, there’s going to be war.”
“Apollo assures me this is on your way to stop the war from breaking out.” Artemis shrugs. “I need to ask him about this new development and I’ll meet you in Denver.”
Artemis waves a hand and vanishes into thin air. I glance between my friends, unsure what to do now.
We have so many other things to worry about, but they just keep piling up. How are we going to defeat the bronze bulls and save everyone? What the hell did she mean we might be immortal and Greyson will be hunted?
All we have is more questions and very few answers.

“What are we going to do?” I ask around a yawn.
It’s been a long stressful day and all I want to do is sleep.
Jayden squeezes my hip. “I think we should just get some sleep and head out first thing in the morning.”
“Should we stay here or go somewhere else?” I ask, glancing at all the lions with a shudder.
“We’re already here,” Jayden says, but he’s not looking at me.
I follow his eyes to a TV over the bar and grimace. A breaking news report is playing on the screen.
Peace talks between the US and China deteriorated today and war looks to be on the horizon if both sides can’t come to a compromise.
“It’s happening already,” I breathe.
Russia and its allies have already thrown their support behind the Chinese government should there be a war.
“Fuck,” Raven says. “This isn’t fucking good. Are we sure we should risk staying the night here?”
Adrian’s eyes glaze over for a second as a vision takes him and we all wait with bated breath for his response.
“Maybe we should just keep moving,” I whisper so I don’t disturb Adrian.
“No,” Adrian says as he blinks out of the vision. “We need to stay. It’s important that we stay the night and recharge.”
Greyson steps up next to Raven. “I need to call the Colorado pack and make sure I can come into their territory anyway. We don’t want another Tristian situation like last time.”
“Agreed.” I nod to him. “We want to do things right, especially since we are there to help.”
Jayden nudges me and the TV changes to a fiery scene in the Colorado mountains where several random forest fires have popped up, devastating the area.
Fire crews have attempted to get to the area to put the fires out, but the reports coming in say the fire is burning too hot for them to get close. Authorities have never seen anything like this before.
