The nereids rarely leave their waters for anything so it would make sense that the dryads would see more than they do, but it still doesn’t help when only one of the dryads has surfaced to give me vague rumors.
This definitely isn’t helping me figure this out. Why the fuck did that guy leave the academy? I don’t think it was of his own free will, but if they are changing tactics when it comes to trying to weaken the academy, this isn’t good at all.
We really need to figure out who’s doing this and why. If not, the world is in some serious shit.

My feet pound against the packed dirt as I race through the forest back to the admin building. I need to find the headmistress and tell her what I just saw.
I still don’t understand how he just walked out of the wards. It doesn’t make any sense. I got shocked when I tried to touch the wards. So how did he get out?
Even as I race through the forest, I do my best to be respectful of the trees, dodging branches and roots on the ground as much as possible.
No one wants the dryads angry. Going into the forest will be dangerous. They can hold a grudge like no other.
“Beth,” Draven calls from the quad and I stiffen.
I don’t know why he thinks it’s okay to corner me. I haven’t spoken to him in weeks.
“Not now, Draven,” I growl.
He’s an entitled prick who doesn’t deserve my attention.
“I just want to talk to you.” He reaches out to grasp my arm, but I dodge him.
“No, I’m busy.” I step around him, but he moves in front of me.
“Why not me?” He glares at me.
“Excuse me?” I ask, shocked.
He really wants to do this right now? What the fuck kind of question is that?
“What doesJaydenhave that I don’t?” he asks, completely serious.
This asshole can’t be serious, right?
“I don’t have time for your bullshit, Draven. I have to go.” I try to step around him again, but he blocks me.
I’m gonna fucking zap him.
He fucking deserves it. Does he think attacking me in the fucking hall is something I’ll find endearing? Or does he just not care about anyone but himself?
“Just tell me. He isn’t good enough for you.” He throws his hands up in the air.
“He’s not good enough for me?” I roll my eyes. “He doesn’t assault me in the dorms and act like everything is fine.”
“Assault?” he asks with a frown.
“You can’t be that stupid. You backed me against the wall and kissed me against my will, without permission.”
He’s not dumb enough to believe that wasn’t an assault.
“I was trying to prove myself to you. I can take charge.”
“You’re in my way, Draven. I don’t have time for your clueless bullshit act. Move.”
Where the fuck is everyone? How does he always end up getting me alone?
