The chains break away from the giant easily.

Fuck, that would have been fucking brilliant if it had actually worked.

White-hot magic pours through my whip as I lash out at the hundred heads.

All Typhon’s heads growl, and the vibration of it makes the ground quake beneath my feet.

Typhon’s hand swipes at Jayden and throws him ten feet to the pit before swinging back and sending me the other direction.

I hit the cracked ground hard and all the air whooshes out of me. I gasp for breath as I stare at Jayden rolling over the cliff.

I scream and magic unlike anything I have felt before sizzles under my skin. Lightning streaks across the sky and slams into Typhon, taking him off his feet.

The ground cracks and rubble falls into the pit as Typhon’s back hits the ground. Fire spews in my direction and my lightning throws up a crackling shield in front of me.

Jayden better be okay. He better not be dead or the small thread of control I am still holding on to will snap.

What will happen if I lose it completely?

A hand reaches out of the pit as Jayden pulls himself up and as soon as his head surfaces, his shadows take over.

Jayden appears in front of me just in time to push me out of the way.

The dragon head spews fire at us again while the rest of the heads shriek and roar.

Typhon stands and all hundred heads turn in our direction. Magic flies past us from the firefight between Hermes and Hecate.

“This just became a lot more hazardous than I anticipated.” Jayden grimaces.

Campe races toward us just as magic hits her in the chest, throwing her backward into the pit.

I turn to Hermes and he smirks as he continues his battle with Hecate.

My godly brother just saved our asses so I’m going to hate asking for yet another favor, but this bitch has been hurting our people.

I need Cross’ lake fixed even if he’s still slightly weak like his father.

Typhon roars as he watches Campe fall backward into the pit.

One hundred sets of eyes peer at me and Jayden.

This is fucking bad.

“Fuck, it looks like he wants our death,” I say with a frown.

“We weren’t the ones to take out Campe,” Jayden says.

“No, but we are the weakest. Take out the weakest enemy first, and then go after the strong.” I shake my head and tighten my grip on my whip.

Jayden adjusts his shield.

Flames shoot out at us but another wall of electricity crackles in front of us.

“Neat trick,” Jayden says, eyeing me.

“I don’t know how it happened but since we, you know, earlier, my magic is off the charts.” I shrug.

A smug smirk tilts up Jayden’s jaw before something crosses his mind and the expression hardens.
