“Hey, buddy, it’s okay. We are going to stop her,” I say.

I reach up and pat his knee again. I need him to calm down before he attracts more attention to us.

I call my whip and scan the area. We need to get to the pit and figure out where the damn helm is so we can get the hell out of here.

Claud’s single eye widens as he points behind me as a cackling sounds in that direction.

My shoulders stiffen, recognizing the sound from New Mexico.

My magic is supercharged after the time with Jayden.

Thankfully something good came from being spelled.

I spin around, facing Hecate, and groan. There is a sea of monsters at her back. This is going to be harder than I thought.

What the fuck are we going to do now?

Monsters surround us on all sides. I curse as Hecate steps forward and grins.

“I gave you a gift before I kill you all, son of Hades,” she says, licking her lips. “Or maybe I won’t kill you but keep you as my slave when we defeat the gods.”

“Fuck off, bitch,” I growl, letting my magic power my whip.

Jayden glances at me and shakes his head. He doesn’t think I have the magic to fight back but I do.

Claud cries and shakes his head. He grabs me around the waist with his huge hand.

“No kill friend,” Claud yells and lifts me into the air.

What the hell, Claud? What the hell is he doing? We are completely surrounded.

“Claud, I’m okay. Let me go so I can fight,” I say in an attempt to placate the huge cyclops.

Claud shakes his head stubbornly. “Help friend.”

“Yes, we will help each other, okay?” I say, patting his fingers. “I can only help if you let me down, though.”

Claud frowns down at me but finally sets me back on my feet. Hecate is laughing hysterically.

“You think that stupid cyclops can help you?” she cackles again. “No one will stop us from killing you and taking down Zeus and any other gods who oppose us.”

Is she for real? Tons of gods have tried, and they have all failed. She is not the one to take Zeus down.

“You really think you will be able to take down Zeus.” I laugh.

“It’s time for a change from the patriarchal society that has men in power. We will rise up and there will be a queen ruling with fairness and compassion,” Hecate roars.

She’s really lost her damn mind, hasn’t she?

“Fairness and compassion? You know the gods, right?” I shake my head.

I scan the wasteland and the monsters that have us surrounded. There are too many of them even for Claud.

I glance up at the frowning cyclops. He’s about ready to tear Hecate apart. A terrifying woman steps from behind Hecate with a malicious grin on her face and animal heads around her waist.

That is no woman, that’s Campe. Shit.
