“Claud, his name is Claud,” I cut her off.

She raises a brow at me and I shrug. I don’t want anyone to disrespect him.

“Make sure Claud gets to the forges,” Rebecca says.

“Hey, buddy, go with them. They are going to show you where you can help.” I grin. “I’ll come visit you as often as I can.”

Claud nods and follows the administrator into the trees.

Rebecca sighs. “Let’s get you all fed. Then you can explain what happened in the underworld. The reports we have been getting from the human world are concerning.”

“Shit, I forgot about the demons.” I turn to Jayden. “I need the shell.”

He hands it to me and I speak clearly. Raven raises a brow when I say “Greyson, wolf shifter.”

Greyson appears in the mist and startles. He’s got dirt and black demon blood on him.

“Have you been monitoring the demon activity in the city?” I ask, shaking my head.

“We have but about five minutes ago they just vanished out of existence. They’re just gone.” Greyson scrubs a hand over his face in confusion.

“Hades,” I say with a grin. “He called all the demons back and is fixing the underworld.”

“So, you already completed your mission? It’s over?” Greyson asks hopefully.

“The underworld is safe for now, but this shit is far from over.” I shake my head.

“Where’s Raven?” he asks, trepidation in his voice.

I hand over the shell to Raven with a grin and follow behind Rebecca to the cafeteria.

Students dot the courtyard in small groups and all chatter dies down to silence as we make our way to the cafeteria.

Jayden stiffens as the last two people in the school that I want to see race toward us.

Fuck.

Dax and Draven stop in front of us, both with relieved expressions.

I hold up a hand as Dax takes another step toward me.

“I don’t want to be an asshole, but I’m starving and exhausted and don’t want to deal with you two right now,” I say, shaking my head.

I step closer to Jayden. I hope I’m being clear in my words and movements as Dax’s face falls and he takes a step back.

Raven stiffens at my side.

“Jayden, incoming,” she says as a tornado of blond hair shoves me to the side and attacks Jayden.

“I thought you would never come back,” Mia whines.

Jayden gently but firmly shoves her away and glares at her. “What the fuck, Mia. We talked about this. There is no chance.”

Jayden grabs my hand and tugs me away from the idiots that can’t fucking take a hint and we rush to the cafeteria where lunch is just starting.

I’m smiling as we walk inside. Jayden did exactly as he said he would. He pushed her away and claimed me as his in front of everyone.

Maybe things can be good between us at the academy.
