Yeah, we need to focus.
We do our death march to the gaping hole in the underworld. Claud sniffles and follows along behind us. His steps shake the already cracked ground.
“Having him walk with us is a bit counterintuitive to trying to stop Tartarus from crumbling,” I mumble.
The ground shakes again, so strong I stumble into Raven.
That most definitely was not Claud.
What the fuck is that? It has to be a Titan. I am not looking forward to meeting Grandpa.
“Get my hands, B,” Raven whispers with an urgency that I don’t like.
I wrap my hand around her wrist and zap the magic a little harder than I intend and she hisses.
“Sorry,” I mumble.
“It’s fine. At least I’m out of the damn things.” She rubs at her wrists before calling her ax.
The monsters and the goddess are too busy watching the pit to notice that we are once again armed and I move to Adrian.
“Don’t zap me,” he says with a grin.
“It was an accident. A fucking Titan is coming out of the pit. I’m allowed to be a little freaked out,” I grumble.
I release Adrian from the magic, and we all turn with our backs to each other. Adrian grips his bow, nocking an arrow.
I stare at the pit as a huge hand slams down on the edge of it.
“What the fuck is that?” I gasp.
“That is one of the Titans,” Jayden says and his shadows pulse and writhe.
He grips his shield but I’m not sure how great that is going to work against the Titan.
Adrian’s eyes are wide as a second hand pops up. They are bigger than my entire body and have a golden glow.
“Typhon,” Adrian whispers in awe and terror.
How does he know that? Did he see Typhon coming?
“It can’t be Typhon,” I say with wide eyes. “He wasn’t sent to Tartarus.”
“Someone freed him from his prison and sent him here to weaken Tartarus faster.” Adrian shakes his head.
That poor guy sees too much.
“So, Typhon is here to free his brothers? Oh, goody.” I shiver.
This just got so much worse. The father of all monsters is coming out of the pit. Just great.
“What the fuck are we going to do now?” I ask no one in particular.
This just got fucking real.
Raven sighs and tightens her grip on her ax. “We are going to have to fight our way out of here and hope we can find the helm before the rest of the Titans escape.”
“With any luck we should be able to lock Typhon down there as well.” Jayden shrugs.
