"Guuurl, those Dunn boys are gonna be broken when they discover you've been banging the bad boy."
My heart drops. "I need to talk to them. They know I've been with him… after last time, they saw the evidence."
"I don't envy you, that conversation, but if they need comforting, you know who to send them to." She wiggles her eyebrows and I burst out laughing.
"No hook up with Colt last night then?"
Her face drops, making me wish I didn't ask.
"No, last time I saw him, he had some redhead sucking his face off."
"Asshole."
"Right?"
"You deserve better than him."
"Maybe so, but right now I just kinda want him."
I smile sadly at her.
"I should leave you to it, maybe let you change into your own clothes." She stares down at my oversized outfit. "I mean, you're totally rocking it, but—"
"Yeah, I need to wear my own underwear."
"You really did run out of there in a rush last night, huh?"
I swallow nervously, as the memories of my departure from the party come back to me.
"Yeah," I whisper.
She climbs from my bed and walks toward the door.
"If you need anything, someone to go with you when you talk to the guys, just give me a shout."
"Thank you, Ella. I really appreciate your support."
"You got it." She smiles sweetly at me and disappears.
I fall back against my headboard and close my eyes for a few seconds, trying to drum up the courage to move and go see Luca and Leon.
I've got to do it today, I can't wait until class tomorrow. That's not fair to them.
It's almost two hours later when I finally emerge from my room. The scent of Violet's enchiladas fills the dorm making my stomach growl but I know I can't stop to eat or I'll never do what I need to do.
"Ah, here she is. We thought you'd bailed on us," Brax says when I approach.
"Yeah, um…" All eyes turn on me and I swallow nervously. "I need to step out so don't worry about me."
"I'll plate you some up and you can have it later."
My lips part to argue but the firm look on Violet's face stops me.
"Thank you," I say, heading out the door before she convinces me to stay.
I'm a nervous wreck by the time I pull up out front of the Dunn's house. There are loads of cars out front and I dread them having people over and gate-crashing.
Blowing out a steeling breath, I climb from my car and head for the front door.
