Before taking our drink order, Felix handed Davian the wine list and assisted me with my chair. There must not have been any reason to look at the list since Davian placed it on the white tablecloth. “Please bring us a Penfolds Cabernet Sauvignon.”
“Very well, sir. Would you like an assortment of cheese and berries with that?”
Davian looked to me for input. “Yes, that would be lovely.” I wanted nothing more than to experience everything this evening had to offer.

As the evening wore on, there were so many things I learned about Davian that I hadn’t known before. I never knew he wanted to become a Navy SEAL, but a freak accident with a gun put him behind a desk. He couldn’t deal with sitting behind a desk instead of fighting for his country, so after he met his four-year term, he quit. I should have felt bad for him, but I didn’t. There was no way to predict what would have happened to him had he stayed. Davian admitted he didn’t regret his decision to leave because the men he met, which he referred to asThe Society, stuck by his decision and were now a part of his life. It was clear that all of them were like brothers to him.
Once we finished our dinner, Davian suggested going to the floor below us and listening to the jazz band playing. From what I could hear of the music, it sounded wonderful, and I was more than willing to go. As we headed down the marble staircase, the music became louder. I could hear a piano, a saxophone, and an instrument I couldn’t put my finger on. Finally, when we hit the last step, and the three-piece band came into view, it was then I saw it was a tall, slender gentleman playing the double bass. They were all dressed in white shirts, black pants, and red ties.
Davian led me further inside the lounge until he spotted an empty table for two near the stage where the band was. We had only been seated for a minute when a waitress took our drink order. Davian ordered a Scotch, and I stayed with red wine. While we waited for the waitress to bring us our drinks, several couples got up from their seats and moved to the small dance floor.
As the couples moved around the dance floor, keeping time with the music, I found myself swaying from side to side in my chair. When our drinks arrived, Davian took hold of my hand. “Come on. Let’s dance.”
Spinning me around once, Davian placed his free hand around my waist and began moving his feet side to side and then forward and backward. I followed his steps as he moved with the beat of the music. Even though we weren’t alone, I felt like we were the only two people on the dance floor, and the band was only playing for us. Resting my cheek against Davian’s shoulder, I closed my eyes and imagined just that.
The song came to an end, and people began clapping for the band. Davian released me, and we faced the band and joined the other patrons by clapping as well. The gentleman that was playing the piano stood and addressed the audience. “We are going to take a short break, but in the meantime, we would like to leave you with songs from our new CD.”

Davian
It was Sunday and our last day together. After last night, I was seriously considering staying another week. If it hadn’t been for the fact that McCall was still on the loose, I would have done just that. The problem was, I didn’t have the manpower needed to protect Reyna. All my men were back in Atlanta doing everything they could to find out where McCall was. With the black sedan still in the parking garage attached to the McCall Agency, there was no way to track where that son-of-a-bitch went.
Pushing from the bed, I grabbed my cell from the nightstand and quietly left the bedroom. Tonight, we would be on our way back to Atlanta, and if I wanted the day to be about Reyna, I had to find out if there was any news on McCall.
Before I hit the last step on the staircase, Patton picked up my call. “Morning, Davian. What has you up so early in the morning?”
“Any word on McCall? Please tell me you have a lead on where he might be.” I had only spoken to Patton yesterday, but I hoped they would have something for me.
“Sorry, Davian. But it’s like Crosby has disappeared into thin air. We’ve been watching his house and the McCall Agency. He hasn’t shown up at either one. There hasn’t been any movement at Elliott’s place either. His cell hasn’t rung since it’s been in our possession.”
I knew the guys were doing everything that they could, but still, it felt like we were missing something. “Do me a favor, Patton. I know it is a long shot, but search the cabin from top to bottom. The police might have missed something.”
“You got it. I’ll let you know if we find anything,” Patton hesitated, cynicism in his voice.
I didn’t care. Doing something was better than doing nothing. What could it hurt? Ending the call, I padded to the kitchen, barefooted, for a cup of coffee. Nick was in the kitchen getting ready to fix breakfast for Reyna and me.
“Good morning, Nick. You’re up bright and early,” I said as I grabbed a cup from the cupboard and poured myself a cup of coffee.”
“Yes, sir. Just prepping the food for today’s menu.” Nick scooped up the chopped onions and green peppers onto his wide knife and pushed them into a bowl.
Leaning my ass against the counter, I sipped my coffee while watching Nick chop tomatoes into small pieces. He was a master at chopping. Very quick. It was a wonder that he didn’t chop his fingers off with how fast he moved the knife up and down.
Placing my cup on the counter, I decided that I had seen enough and needed to head back upstairs to be with Reyna. Nick probably appreciated not having an audience while cooking anyway. Giving him a friendly pat on the shoulder, I said. “Thanks for the coffee and entertainment.”
Nick half-smiled and said, “You’re welcome. Breakfast will be ready in about an hour.”
Giving him a thumbs up, I walked out of the kitchen. Taking the stairs two at a time, I didn’t want to waste any time before waking Reyna up with a special good morning. When I walked into the bedroom, Reyna was still sleeping soundly. Soon that was going to change. Lifting the comforter at the foot of the bed, I carefully moved beneath it. I placed my hands on her warm ankles and worked them upward along her calves and then her thighs.
Crawling up her body at a snail's pace beneath the covers, I left a trail of kisses on her belly and then on each breast. Her body came to life as she began to squirm. Reyna pushed away the covers, exposing her beautiful body to me. When I lifted my head, her beautiful smile greeted me. Her hair was no longer in a messy bun but hanging loosely down her shoulders. Even though her mascara was smeared under her eyes, she was still the most gorgeous woman ever.
I gave her a mischievous grin before lowered my head down her body. Lapping and nibbling the skin just below Reyna’s rib cage, I felt her body rise from the bed from the stimulation. When I reached her belly, I placed my hands on her thighs and pushed her legs wider. Dipping my tongue into her opening, I teased her swollen lips. Teasing her even more, I moved my lips against her clit and kissed the sensitive bit of flesh. I let out a primitive groan, and Reyna began moving against my face. “Yes, Davian. Don’t stop.”
I had no intention of stopping. Little did she know, I was enjoying this too. Maybe even more than she was. I slid my tongue in and out of her, building her pleasure slowly, little by little. Gliding my hand down her stomach, I used my thumb and stroked it over her clit, all the while licking and nibbling her moist folds.
Screaming and grabbing a fistful of my hair, Reyna anchored me between her legs as she rode out her climax. Protectively, I cupped her pussy and said, “This is mine, Reyna. All mine.”
