“Dude.”
“We’re done,” I say, my voice too tight. “It’s hot and it’s affecting your concentration. We can pick this up another day.”
“I’m not the one who’s distracted here.” He grins, slow and knowing.
Something inside me snaps. Shooting from my chair, I start grabbing my notes and start shoving them into my bag. I need to leave before I say or do something that’d ruin me.
“Liam.” The sound of my name on his lips halts me in my steps. Something dark flits through his eyes as he steps closer to me. “Tell me what’s wrong.”
“Drop it, Hayden.”
Hayden stands before me, refusing to back down. His overwhelming presence makes my heart pound and suddenly, I find I can barely breathe.
I try to sidestep to escape him but his fingers curl around my wrist, stopping me. “You don’t get to leave without telling me what’s bothering you.”
My body reacts to his touch and I fail to hide it.
Hayden’s expression darkens. “I guess I need to take the lead at every step of the way with you.” Before I understand what he means, he suddenly kisses me.
I freeze to the spot as his arms wound around my body, pulling me close against him.
His lips are relentless. Bold. And feel oh-so-good!
A fire ignites deep in my belly, burning the last shred of self-preservation in me. Hayden nips my bottom lip, coercing me to open up to him.
A moan escapes me as my resistance crumbles. My fingers grip onto his T-shirt as I open my lips to him, inviting him in deeper.
Hayden growls into my mouth, his hands gripping my waist as he backs me up against the table. His woody fragrance envelops me in a haze of heat and desire, eradicating all thought from my mind.
I have no idea how long I’m trapped in the kiss but reality slams into me like a splash of icy-cold water. Oh, God! What the hell am I doing?
Breaking away, I push Hayden. “We can’t do this—”
Hayden doesn’t back away. Instead, he leans into me and swipes his tongue over my bottom lip.
I close my eyes as shivers run all over me. Why does it feel so damn good to have his mouth on me?
“You can’t hide your feelings from me, Liam,” Hayden whispers against my ear, his teeth gently nipping the lobe.
“We—I can’t—I shouldn’t—it’s wrong,” I try to put my thoughts into words but fail.
“You’re a student yourself,” he says, leaving soft kisses all over my cheeks, nose, and lips. “You’re not a professor in his sixties who’s taking advantage of an underage kid.”
I suck in a breath, sharp and unsteady, right before Hayden’s mouth crashes against mine.
This time, he’s even more forceful. He claims my mouth completely while his tongue thrusts in deep, tasting me fully.
Hayden is a true athlete, on the ice and off it. He doesn’t hold back and comes at me with everything he’s got.
I barely have a moment to process what’s happening when my back hits the door.Did we lock it?A distant voice whispers in my head.
“Stop, stop, stop!” I shout, panicked.
“What?” he growls against my neck, his hot breath fanning over my sensitive skin.
“We didn’t lock the door.”
I lean against the wall as Hayden walks past me and clicks the lock in. Turning over his shoulder, he smirks. “There, it’s done. Happy?”
