“You’re high-maintenance, you know that?” he whispers.
Gods! Why does it feel like I’m on a real date with a boyfriend I’ve been seeing for months?
Hayden is my student, I chant in my head, struggling to keep a straight face.I’m his fucking tutor!
I’m almost relieved when Sarah comes back with more food. This way, I can continue stuffing my face and avoid having to look directly at Hayden.

Hayden Bastian has become the bane of my existence.
It’s Monday afternoon and I’m back in a tutoring session with him in one of the tiny library cubicles. I’m trying to focus on the lines of equations on the page before me but none of it is making any sense to me.
Hayden sits awfully close to me, his thighs knocking against mine as he writes something in his notebook. It almost makes me glad that he’s smart enough to be able to solve the math problems without needing any input from me.
Focus, I scream in my head, trying to ignore the way Hayden is sprawled in the adjacent chair, taking up all the space, sucking up every last molecule of oxygen in the room.
It’s just a body, I remind myself.Just a very powerfully-built, athletic, beautiful, hot body...
“It’s so damn hot today,” Hayden suddenly says, dropping his pen on the table.
“Yeah,” I say distractedly, still trying to figure out the formula that’d solve the complicated-looking equation on the page before me.
“The library’s heating system is on some kind of bullshit today,” Hayden says, making me look around.
And just then, my gaze falls on the Greek god before me.
I blink, my brain unable to make sense of what I’m actually seeing.
Hayden has shed his hoodie, revealing a black T-shirt that clings to the ridges of his abs like a second skin. The sleeves hug his biceps in a way that should be declared illegal. My gaze skims down to his elbow and to his thick fingers.
His fingers are so damn strong, I find myself thinking as memories from the night he choked me resurface in my mind.
My cock jerks awake at the thought.Shit!I curse silently, dropping my gaze to the textbook in front of me.
“Are you sure you don’t want to remove your clothes?” Hayden asks, drumming a finger on my palm.
I snatch my hand off the table, refusing to look at him. “Uh, I’m fine. Really.”
Even though I keep my eyes off him, I can’t help but catch a whiff of his woodsy, masculine scent.
Hayden’s fingers wrap around mine, sending jolts of current over my skin. “Hey, are you good? You look too red in the face.”
“I said I’m fine!” I snap, glaring at him.
Oops!I shouldn’t have risen to his bait.
Hayden is standing to his full height, towering over me, stretching his arms over his head. The hem of his T-shirt lifts with the movement, revealing his tanned, tightly-muscled stomach. A thin trail of hair disappears beneath his waistband and...
I squeeze my eyes shut.
A breathy chuckle sounds in the room, making me glance up at Hayden. His eyes gleam like he knows everything I’m thinking about right now. A devilish smirk forms on his lips as he leans close to me.
“What’s wrong?” he whispers.
“Nothing,” I mumble, slamming the textbook shut.
