‘Detective Corbin Price.

Police Liaison to the FBI.’

He stared at them, and it stole his breath. He’d just been telling the therapist he wasn’t sure he’d go back to being a cop.

This made him want to.

“What?” he asked.

Ethan told him.

“You’re going to help us work on the cases as soon as you’re cleared to go back to work—IFyou decide to go back to work. If not, we’ll just be working with some other detective. I hope he’s nice. Do you think he’ll be nice, Gene?”

The big man shrugged.

“I mean, he won’t be a crotch goblin, but we’ll figure out how to work with him.”

He stared.

“So if I go back, I’m not going to be handling normal detective shit? I get to work with the two of you on every case?”

They both nodded.

“Yes. We aren’t rushing you, but we go back to work after we get back fromPuerto Rico. Then, we have to get a cat. I promised Ethan a cat,” he said.

Blackhawk laughed.

Partially because of the cat thing, but mostly because that was the old Corbin peeking out. They were luring him out with something he wanted.

Safety in the field.

They would be his safety net, as he was around them all of the damn time. Now, they could babysit him because the baby detective needed them too.

“Sound like something you’re interested in?” Gene asked.

He nodded.

“I’ll get cleared tomorrow!”

Oh, hell, no!

Gene pointed.

“NO. YOU WILL NOT GET CLEARED TOMORROW.”

He stared at him.

“Why not?

Gene pointed at himself and then Ethan.

“AGAIN, we’re getting our asses on that plane in a few days to go toPuerto Ricofor a week filled with fun, sun, and a lot of fornication.”

He laughed.

“You areNOTto wreck our vacation. Do you hear me, Corbin? No going back to work until we are back. We don’t need a call saying you’re in the field,ALONE!”

The man grinned.
