Conrad swung his gaze over to Frank.“I thought you had just two sons?”
“So did I.But apparently, Elizabeth had her own ideas. But I am glad to finally have them in my life.”
“So, they all work here with the team too?”Conrad looked astounded at the idea.
“Yes,” Sheba spoke up.“We aren’t your normal family.”
“Thank fuck.”Ari nodded.“We go after the bad guys. The kind of men who made us fighters in the first place are the kind we seek out to stop them from hurting people.I would not trade this life for anything.”
Conrad stared at them then around to all of Frank’s progeny.“I’ll be damned. You should be proud, all right. What a life.”
Frank took a step back and crossed his arms over his chest as he replied, “It is a rip roaring ride through a world of intrigue, chasing killers into the darkness of their misdeeds. An endeavor to stop those who have nothing but notorious mayhem in mind for the world. If necessary, we end them in order to prevent these criminal elements from ending lives and stealing livelihoods.”
Everyone in the room stared at him.
“Damn, Pops,” Cane spoke up.“That was downright eloquent.”
“Yeah, man.”Orrin nodded.“Made me tear up and shit.”
“Right?”Sheba beamed at her newly found father.“I mean, here I thought ‘the family that slays together stays together’was so clever.
Bane shook his head.“You have your moments, Dad.”
Frank gave him a smirk as he dropped his arms to tap a finger on the file Cane had brought to their table.“This is Mr.Red’s ship.”
Bane picked the file up and opened it to read the ship’s name aloud, “Vermiculus?”
“Yes, what a shocker, eh?”Conrad said.“That is Latin forThe Crimson.”
“Okay then, let’s go play...Who Sank My Battleship?!”Sheba said with a laugh.
Ari rubbed her hands together with much glee.“Oooh, we get to scuba dive and plant sticky bombs!”
Conrad stared at them with scrunched brows. Then he looked over at Bane.
“Do not be fooled by theirlittle girlnonsense.”Bane shrugged.“They are both very deadly, well trained assassins.”
Conrad raised his brows at this to take another look at the two very beautiful butsupposedlydeadly assassins.
Wearing precocious smiles, the two girls gave him friendly little waves.
Orrin laughed.“Look who’s scaring the normals now.”
