“It was bound to happen.” I capture her hand. “Now come on, future wife, it’s time for bed.”
We wave our goodbyes.
We walk out the door together.
And I smile.
We enter the room.
We reach for each other.
And I’m still smiling.
She takes off my shirt.
I pull off her dress.
And I can’t stop smiling.
She comes undone beneath me.
I lose myself above her.
And I know.
With her.
I’ll never stop smiling.
Epilogue 1
Kendra
Dad holdshis arm out for me, and I take it.
My dress is cream. The skirt is fluffy with tulle. And colorful flowers are embroidered from the bodice to the hem.
It’s perfect.
Dad lets out a breath. “Ready?”
I nod. “Ready.”
Ashley gives me a big smile, then she starts to walk.
We follow her down around the side of Luther’s house.
Our house.
The leaves have changed color.
The bright yellows and oranges and reds stand out against the bright blue sky.
And it’s perfect.
When we reach the corner of the house, we turn, and it doesn’t feel real.
The white chairs sit in neat rows, and Ashley starts down the aisle ahead of us, tossing flower petals with each step.
