Trailing my nose up her neck, I pause and growl, “Mine” before whispering, "Let’s go." Then placing a kiss right below her ear. I let her go and walk out of the room, leaving her on edge for the rest of the day. Just like she leaves me every time I see her.
“You ready?”Killian asks as he puts the car into park, shutting it off.
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” I sigh as I unbuckle my seat belt.
“Come on. It won’t be that bad,” he teases as he opens the door. “Stay there,” he says as he slides out.
I watch as he walks around the hood of the car and the way his arms flex as he reaches for the door handle.
“See something you like?” He smirks as he opens the door.
“You know I do,” I say, making him chuckle.
I get out of the car and take his hand after he shuts the door. We make our way up the steps and ring the doorbell.
“What should we expect?”
“Expect the unexpected,” I say under my breath as the door swings open.
“Bambina!” Nonna Rosa pulls me into a hug.
“How have you been, Nonna?” I ask, hugging her back with one arm.
“Just fine, now introduce me to this young man,” she scolds.
“Nonna, this is Killian O’Reilly. Killian, this is Nonna Rosa. She’s taken care of all of us Catalini kids.”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you, ma’am,” Killian says, taking her hand and laying a kiss on her knuckles.
“You’ll have to watch yourself with this one, Greer,” Nonna says with a rosy tint to her cheeks. “Now come in, both of you. Everyone is in the family room. Greer, you know the way.”
“Thank you.” I smile as we step inside.
We walk past her and head toward the voices. As we get closer, the louder the voices get.
“Here goes nothing,” I say under my breath.
“Who knew you were such a pessimist.”
“Hey, you two made it!” Sofia says, standing from her spot on the floor.
“We did.” I smile as she gives me a quick hug.
“Killian, it’s nice to see you again.”
“Same to you, Sofia. We brought wine.”
“We did?” I ask without thinking.
“I slipped it into your bag.” Killian smiles as he squeezes my hand.
“That’s cute, isn’t it, Bash? He puts wine in her bag,” Gio quips.
“Come sit. No need to be formal tonight of all nights,” Bash says, ignoring Gio. “Would you two like something to drink?”
“Yes, please,” I say as I move to sit on the couch.
“I would love one,” Killian says as he sits next to me.
