Page 25 of One Night Seduction

“Are you just looking for a place to sleep because there are no free beds?”

He grins, tucking a piece of hair behind my face as he cups my jaw. The way his fingers dance over my skin sends goosebumps running down my back as he grins.

“You and I both know your bed is open, you already offered,” he taunts.

I wave him off with a laugh. “I was joking.”

“I wasn’t,” he says almost immediately, causing my stomach to dip.

Before I can respond, he continues.

“You grab the blankets. I’ll grab anything else we might need. Meet back in five?”

I pretend to think it over beforeI grin at him.

Ty shoots me a quick wink as we both head back to the house. I go into my room and scrounge up a few blankets and pillows. Gathering them up into my arms, I make my way back outside towards the treehouse.

I do my best not to make eye contact with Logan or my mom, but before I can fully pass them, my mom calls out to me.

“Where are you going?”

Turning, I face them. My mom is currently perched in Logan’s lap, her arm around his neck as his hand rests on her hip. My stomach turns as I look at them, but I do a good job of keeping my face neutral.

“Ty and I are going to do a campout in the treehouse.”

She wrinkles her nose up like that idea couldn’t be any less appealing.

“You’re gonna sleep outside? Willingly?”

“Yeah,” I say tightly.

She shrugs her shoulders. “Just make sure he doesn’t knock you up.”

My mouth parts in shock at the same time Logan’s face scrunches up. She laughs, waving me off. Oh, I guess she thought that was a joke. I feel his deep brown eyes move to mine, but I strategically look away just before they can meet.

“Have a good night,” I call out over my shoulder as I continue heading to the treehouse.

“You too,” my mom says.

Climbing up the ladder with all the blankets and pillows proves to be a little more challenging than I anticipated, but soon, I’m inside the old wooden box, a comforter taking up almost the entire floor and pillows and two extra blankets scattered around.

Ty pops his head up through the entry hole in the next minute, grinning when he looks around.

“It looks awesome!”

“How can you even tell? I can hardly see my hand in front of my face.” I laugh.

He lifts up a battery powered lantern that illuminates the entire treehouse. After that, he lifts up a six pack of beer and a bag of snacks he seems to have raided from the cabinets before hoisting himself up, closing the hatch behind him.

“Hi,” he smiles.

I laugh. “Hi, looks like you brought everything but the kitchen sink.”

He begins unpacking chips, cookies, and an endless amount of junk food. The last thing he pulls out is a pack of Uno. I laugh as he begins dealing the cards, and wordlessly, the game begins.

We play for a little while before I serve him with a draw four and a color I know he can’t have because I swear to god, I’m holding all of them in my hand. He pulls card after card, quickly adding to his stack as he speaks.

“So, what’s going on with you and my brother?”
