Mir’ Ahn reached out with both hands and pulled her toward him. “Let me see what’s beneath all these clothes. Perhaps I’ll make you my queen when I kill all of the Cruestaci royal family.”

“I’m a lady. I will not let you undress me in public like this!” she said, feigning outrage. “Let’s go in the waste chamber!”

“I want to come!” the amphibian male declared.

Elspeth ignored him, and grabbed Mir’ Ahn by the hand, leading him toward the waste chamber. She rolled her eyes at Rokai as she approached him, while Mir’ Ahn did his unsteady best to reach around and fondle her breasts. She yanked open the door to the waste chamber and stepped inside, pulling Mir’ Ahn in behind her.

Rokai opened the door and started to follow them into the waste chamber, but the amphibian male had managed to make his way to the waste chamber as well, intent on joining the party.

“What do you want?” Rokai demanded.

“I want some of that female! She’s a little manly, but I don’t mind, she still has all the right parts.”

“You can’t!”

“Why not? She offered!”

“She offered him!”

“Then why are you going?”

Rokai stopped and canted his head, his face turned toward the ceiling. “Did you hear that? You’re a lucky bastard!” Rokai declared.

“What?” the male asked.

“They just announced it! You’re the patron of the day. You get a free hookah filled with your flavor of choice!”

“They said that?” he asked.

“They did!”

“You know? I thought I heard something about that, but I didn’t realize I’d won. I have to go get my hookah!”

“You’d better hurry, they only gave you five minutes to collect your prize!”

“I’m going!” he said, his words gurgling out behind him as he swayed his way to the bar.

Rokai shook his head in disgust, then opened the door and stepped inside the waste chamber.

“What took you so long?” Elspeth asked.

Rokai laughed. Mir’ Ahn was pressed against the wall, passionately kissing it.

“Don’t laugh. He thinks he’s kissing me.”

Mir’ Ahn pushed away from the wall, his head teetering like it was in danger of falling off his shoulders. “You don’t kiss very well,” he complained.

Rokai stepped in front of him and slammed Mir’ Ahn’s back against the wall. “Hello, Mir’ Ahn.”

Mir’ Ahn blinked his eyes, doing his best to focus. “Who…”

“Look well, Mir’ Ahn. Do you recognize me? Rokai ahl Tel Mo’ Kok. Brother to Sire Zha Quin Tha Tel Mo’ Kok. Uncle to Sire Zha Quin Alexandrus Tel Mo’ Kok.”

Despite Mir’ Ahn’s drugged state, he seemed to be realizing the danger he was in. “I have done nothing wrong,” he slurred out.

“You attacked my family. You thought to kill a youngling. Kill his parents and take over the Cruestaci populace and rule them yourself. And you left your sister behind to be prosecuted for your crimes when your plan failed.”

“I did no such thing! I was just going to make them do what I want because they didn’t want him killed,” Mir’ Ahn said, patting Rokai on the shoulder. “Sister doesn’t count. She always liked being a servant. Humiliating, really.” He looked critically at Rokai. “You should thank me. They never liked you very much either. Oh! Maybe we could join forces! You can’t be the Sovereign, though. That’s my job.”
