I didn’t understand that one. But I smiled anyway.

“Please, Master,” Tajah pleaded.

“I don’t deserve that title anymore, sweet Tajah.” Bram shook his head.

Tajah pressed her forehead to his and kissed it. Beretta who stood in the corner with her silver claws extended growled lowly. But a stern look from Tajah to Beretta made it clear it was a brotherly and sisterly exchange. Beretta didn’t let her guard down, however, and she stayed in her corner watching them both warily.

If it was Delilah doing that to any male, or female, I believe I would have already ripped out their throats.

But perhaps female bonds were different.

Bram looked defeated but nodded. He whispered a language I couldn’t understand to Tajah, and she stepped to the open door of the cabin wistfully.

“Grab the heart and the body you wish to save for later and take it outside.” Tajah urged quietly as she gazed at Journey, who was still speaking in strange tongues.

Tajah took off her trench coat and laid it in the dusty chair. Her purple corset inlaid with gold and silver patterns on the bodice reflected in the setting sun.

“Shh, it’s alright,” I soothed Delilah, who had become restless in my arms. “She’s going to make us more comfortable.” My purr grew louder in my chest, and I used my arm to pull Delilah’s face away from Chad and Shane’s bodies.

Unfortunately, their bodies being dragged out of the cabin couldn’t be unheard. “Just think about sucking my cock later, eh?”

I could feel the warmth of Delilah’s breath against my chest as she giggled, shaking her head.

Once the body was removed, Tajah tapped the door with one knuckle three times, whispering the spell uttered to her earlier. The inside of the cabin moved around us, even with everyone inside.

Furniture rose above the floorboards as if from another dimension. Doors slid downward from the ceilings and settled on the walls that would lead to other rooms. The living room doubled as well, couches and chairs able to hold strong sturdy men and women appearing along with decorative blankets and throws.

Large widows, a fireplace, wardrobes, and closets all appeared faster than even the supernatural trained eye could keep up with. Decorated walls, blankets, and a large kitchen all appeared around us.

If you blinked one too many times, you could have missed it.

“Woah,” Delilah breathed.

“There, fifteen bedrooms, fourteen bathrooms, clothing, food, drinks, and a medical room. I think that covers it,” Tajah said, patting her hands.

“My, your power has grown,” Bram said with pride in his voice. “I never thought you would have grown so much since–”

Tajah smirked. “Yes, well. Things change when you find your second chance, now don’t they?”

Beretta stepped from the shadows, her hand interlacing with Tajah’s, and licked Tajah right up the cheek. Her tail had also wrapped around her waist, and Locke rolled his eyes.

“You felines and that tail. It’s rather disgusting.”

“You just wish you had an appendage long enough to do anything with,” Beretta purred.

Sizzle snorted, covering his mouth with a balled fist. “Oh shit, she got you!” He pointed to Locke in laughter.

Delilah smiled, her fingers rubbing my skin as she watched everyone laugh and speak with one another. “It’s nice to see everyone back together. Like one big family,” Delilah said.

I released a contented hum to show my agreement. I pressed my cheek against her forehead, feeling the warmth of her skin.

Bram chuckled, rubbing his hand up and down his leg. “Thank the goddess for that, Tajah. And I believe you have surpassed the master now. We should hold a ceremony. Like back at the academy.”

“No way.” Tajah waved her hand in dismissal. “Those were so lame. Like ‘here is your cloak, don’t go set anything on fire now!’” The room laughed while Tajah made jokes about Bram being a professor until Delilah let out a whimper.

Her body jerked, her claws descended into my thigh, and she let an ear-piercing scream that had the entire room grabbing their ears.

“Make it stop!” Delilah’s forearm snapped, piercing the skin. Instead of it rearranging into a longer version of itself, it stayed broken, so she felt the pain for that much longer.
