Appearing bored with their childish behaviour, I give them both a wicked smile.

“Have fun boys.” I wave them off.

“Try not to catch anything too horrible. I hear Gonorrhoea is a bitch to get rid of.”

Five sets of eyes follow me as I pick up my discarded robe. The aphrodisiac was still in the room, tempting us all into pushing the fragile bond we all stood on. This could not happen again. There was too much involved when it came to them.

“And where do you think you’re going?” Kai demands.

“Look, I’ll go along with whatever you tell King, but from now on, I think it’s better if we stay away from each other.”

They obviously have their own agenda for being here. Staying out of each other’s way is the best course of action, considering what just happened.

A cruel chuckle echoes around the room. “Too late for that, sweetheart.”

“It’s better this way.” I push, trying to convince myself as well.

“You’re choosing the fucking coward’s way out. I can see it in your eyes,” Jax says, his anger lighting like a fuse.

I grit my teeth, sending Jax a glare that would make grown men shrivel.

“Don’t pretend you don’t want it. I can still smell your desire from here, princess.” I chuckle at Axel without an ounce of humour, my voice sounding raspy from how turned on I still was. “And the aphrodisiac seeping into every corner of the room had absolutely nothing to do with that.”

“Don’t lie to yourself. That aphrodisiac only magnified what was already there, a shitload of attraction,” Jax says daring me to deny it.

“It doesn’t matter. This can’t happen again. You’ve got what you wanted. Now leave and go back to wherever you came from.”

I turn to leave when Kai grabs my arm, pulling me into him. His other hand reaches out, softly caressing my cheek.

“You want to run,” Kai says softly. With him this close again, my skin feels too warm, too tight, needing a release.

“But it won’t work.”

“Why not?” I grit out, feeling more frustrated than angry. I look into his eyes to find them burning with heat. Coming closer, he dips his head near my ear, his breath sending warm tingles down my body, turning the frustration into something else.

Something I didn’t want to think about right now.

“Because I’llalwaysfind you.” His lips graze my cheek as he whispers softly.

Kai takes a deep breath, making me shiver. “You know what they say about hounds of hell… They will destroy the world around them in pursuit of their prey.” His heated gaze never leaves mine as he drags my bottom lip down with his thumb, making me lose my train of thought.

Giving me one last searing look, he steps away from me, taking any of the warmth I feel with him, before resuming his spot near Rion and looking at ease once again. But looking closer, I could see the hard set to his jaw, his shoulders and body tense.

I send him a glare, hating the way he makes me feel. How easily they all worked their way under my skin so quickly.

“You can’t run away from us, not this time,” Kai says.

I want to tell them that I never ran. Not from them, nor did I leave any of them by choice. But the words were left suspended on my lips. Their heated presence makes everything feel too overwhelming and no matter what I said, no words could repair the damage caused by my absence and deception.

Kai’s heated gaze bores into my own, unwavering.

“You’re ours Kiarra, always.” He turns to the others, sharing a look before heading out. Their heated gaze’s flit from me to his retreating back, before following silently behind him.

“We’ll be seeing you soon, Siren,” Rion says just before he walks out.

One look in each of their eyes and I could see the truth in his words.

We were far from finished.
