Page 34 of Heart Break Her

Noah is sitting next to me with his hand up some groupie’s skirt, but I don’t miss that it’s in clear view of Merry, probably trying to piss her off. I’m not sure what it is between those two, but they need to either screw or get over it. Neither of them is a prude when it comes to fucking, but for some reason they won’t just bang each other and get it out of their systems.

Merry is playing her own head games with Noah, making out with some chick and the girl’s boyfriend, looking about five minutes away from dragging them somewhere for a threesome. She’s less than five feet away, and I don’t miss the glares shooting between them.

I look over at Noah, and he rolls his eyes.

“You’re an idiot,” I tell him, like I’m one to talk.

“Fuck off.” He grabs onto the girl in his lap’s tits and bites her neck.

“So, what do you say?” The blonde in my lap shifts into my line of sight, almost straddling me now. She’s pretty, in a surgically enhanced, makeup-painted-on-thick kind of way. I don’t know her name, and I really don’t give a shit. She’s a distraction from another blonde I really can’t be thinking about.

Wonderful, now I’m thinking about her.

“Let’s go back to your room.” The blonde starts swiveling her hips.

It still amazes me what fans will do to bang a rock star. I bet if I took my dick out right here in a room full of people, she’d get on her knees no problem.

But around the blonde’s head, my eyes catch a wisp of pink from across the room that draws my attention, and I no longer care what this chick is offering.

I’m not sure where I thought Cassie would be tonight after the show, but I didn’t think she’d be here partying with the band. Isn’t she supposed to be some kind of good girl and shit? There’s no way Myth would have allowed this.

But Myth isn’t here.

Fuck, here I go dragging her further down this rabbit hole. What did I expect? Cassie just graduated college, and she’s been thrown into the deep end over our sex tape. Did I really think she’d sit on the tour bus and be in bed by nine? She’s probably here to let loose and have fun.

That thought alone unnerves me.

Cassie is with a group of people, laughing, and the way she almost stumbles when she moves tells me she’s definitely drunk. She shifts, and her body starts tilting. But just before she’s about to tip over, some guy with a full sleeve of tattoos and a shaved head throws an arm around her shoulders to steady her. She looks up at him with a smile that makes me want to break something.

I showed up here tonight to get Cassie off my mind. If I can’t have her, then I need to forget her, and this chick in my lap was supposed to do the trick. I thought my plan was working. But now the girl with the pink hair who lives in every corner of my head is standing less than twenty feet in front of me, and everyone else in the room might as well disappear.

What the hell? I’m not the guy who gets hung up on one girl, especially good girls like Cassie. But the smile on her face can bring even the best of men to their knees. Not to mention what it does to the worst of them, like me.

Fuck.

I should take this groupie back to my room right now and let her put her mouth on my cock to help me forget all my problems. But I should do a lot of things that I don’t.

Call me spoiled.

Call me a rock star.

Call me selfish.

I want what I want. Especially when I’m not supposed to have it.

I grab the blonde’s waist and lift her off me, which makes her smile, until she realizes I’m brushing her off.

“What the hell?”

“Maybe later,” I tell her when she narrows her eyes.

Tattoo guy is looking at Cassie like he wants to bend her over the balcony, and I have to restrain myself from punching him in the face when I walk up to them, so I don’t get slapped with another lawsuit.

“Cassie,” I say, walking straight into the circle of people and stopping directly in front of her.

It’s only then I realize Rome is among the group with his arm around some woman’s waist. There’s an amused look on his face as he watches what I’m doing, but he doesn’t say anything.

Cassie looks almost annoyed when her eyes meet mine.
