"Go to them."Kai smiles at me with a million watts of beauty. "Go to them and take my Hummer, I have a feeling you may need it."
I get to my feet, plant a hard kiss on my mate then look at my dad. "You spend any time with Daisy Mae yet?"
His eyes brighten. "Not nearly enough. Why?"
"Help Kai set up one of the bedrooms in our wing, I have a feeling we are about to have another move in party."
With one more kiss for Kai because I can't not, I grab my phone, his keys, and take off into the garage.
I'm not sure what's going on exactly but I know it isn't good.
And somewhere in the back of mind I know it has everything to do with that criminal in our dungeon.

"I'm here!" I basically yell as I throw open the door to Krazy Kady's and almost knock over Mr. Newman. "Geez, sorry Mr. N." I quickly grab his arm and drink carrier, steady the almost seventy year old man before discreetly fixing his toupee. "I definitely owe you a coffee."
He nods, gives me a smile then shrugs because I'm ninety percent sure he didn't hear anything I said and when he shuffles off to no doubt slam his three shots of espresso, venti blonde roast with caramel and whipped cream, I scan the shop for my girls.
My girls that are tucked back in the corner table, Grace and Casey each with an arm around Allie while she cradles a one month old Daisy to her chest and sobs.
"Hey," I croon in my best soothing tone, pull the table out completely then slide the fourth chair right in front of Allie. "I'm sorry I couldn't get here sooner, I didn't realize how far away I’d moved."
Allie blinks her blue-green eyes, eyes rimmed in red and overflowing with tears. "It's ok. You're here now and that's all that m-m-matters."
I reach out and take Allie's free hand, squeeze it tight and give Daisy's little bum a pat. "What's going on, honey? What's wrong?"
When she only shakes her head and blows a snot bubble, I look to Casey and Grace, who just shrug.
"We haven't been able to get the story out of her yet," Grace says with so much concern. "So I'm not sure whose ass we have to kick."
"Ok. Let's set the tone, shall we?" With one more reassuring squeezes to her fingers, I let go of Allie's hand then hold out both of mine. "Give me the baby."
Allie smiles a little through her tears, kisses the sweetest bundle ever and hands her over with a sigh.
My best friend—one of them because all three of these women are my besties—looks exhausted. And so mad-sad that I literally want to start punching people just like Grace does.
Casey is more passive aggressive.
She'll sit and be supportive, soothing, give you great advice then go slash the tires and key the fuck out of the car that belongs to whoever wronged her girls.
But Allie, Allie is and always has been a fighter, so to see her so completely unraveled for the second time in six months is upsetting.
"Did we already order?" I take a huge whiff of baby head and sigh, my ovaries instantly starting their countdown to when Kai and I can make our own sweet baby.
Casey nods while rubbing circles on Allie's back. "Kady went into mama bear mode the second Al called. She's got pinwheels coming out of the oven in ten and Ronny is making our drinks."
"Thank gods it was almost closing when you called, otherwise we never would have been able to meet here." Grace rests her dark orange bob on Allie's shoulder. "So spill it, Al. We've got the place to ourselves and pastries to destroy."
Allie nods. "Ok. So… you know how I wasn't sure if I was going to renew my lease because I shared the apartment with Jeff?"
We all nod.
"Well, that asshole sent me an eviction notice. He gave me five days to vacate before he takes legal action to have me removed."
I scowl. "Dick."
"You know Will would never let things go down that way," Grace says. "He would have made sure you were all set before he even considered acting on that."
