He leaned in with a mischievous look in his eyes. “Since the day I had you.”

“Please shut up!” I groaned, pushing my chair back to stand up. But before I could get away, his arm shot out, grabbed my wrist, and pulled me onto his lap.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered against my cheek, his eyes dark and full of mischief. “I won’t tease anymore.”

His lips brushed my jaw, then moved lower, slowly savoring every inch of my skin, making me shiver in his arms.

“But I am going to do it with you,” he murmured, catching my lower lip between his teeth and gently nibbling it.

I gasped, my hands clutching his shoulders for balance as heat swirled through me. He tilted his head and kissed just behind my ear, sucking that one spot that completely undid me, the one that made me involuntarily clench my thighs.

My breath hitched. My heart pounded wildly as his tongue traced a slow, hot path down my neck.

“Mmm…” I moaned softly, feeling his fingers slide beneath the hem of my dress, teasing, warm, and deliberate. Every touch left a trail of goosebumps, stoking the fire building between my legs.

His hand stroked up the inside of my thigh, maddeningly close, but never quite where I needed him most.

“Aryan…” I whispered, breathless.

“Yes, baby…” he growled, dragging his tongue over my collarbone, then down my chest, his hands roaming possessively, as if he needed to study me all over again.

I cradled the back of his head, shutting my eyes as my body trembled in anticipation.

Just as I reached for his shirt, undoing the first button with shaky fingers, he playfully but warningly bit my shoulder.

“I think you need to get ready for duty,” I managed to whisper between ragged breaths.

He growled against my skin. “Say duty one more time, and I’ll be late on purpose.”

I laughed softly, just as the doorbell rang and we both froze.

“Who is it?” I breathed, barely able to think through the haze of desire.

“If it’s your childhood sweetheart, I swear I’ll slit his throat and let martial law handle the case,” Aryan grumbled, standing up. He buttoned the shirt I had just undone and walked over to answer the door.

I quickly smoothed down my clothes and ran my fingers through my hair.

“Hey, Bhai!” I heard Rhea chirp.

“Oh my God!” I gasped, shocked to see Rhea and Kavya standing there, beaming. “What an awesome surprise!”

“How are you, Bhabhi?” Rhea asked as she pulled me into a hug.

“I’m fine. What about you?”

“I’m more than fine.”

I hugged Kavya next.

“Why do you smell… different?” my stupid friend sniffed me suspiciously. “Are you wearing your husband’s cologne?”

There was a knowing smirk on her face, and I muttered a curse under my breath.

“I gotta go,” Aryan muttered, clearly irritated by his sister’s surprise visit.

“We’ll be staying here for a week,” Rhea announced cheerfully.

Aryan paused, turned around slowly, and stared at his sister like she had just told him she was moving to Mars.
