He groaned dramatically then sat up, running a hand through his hair.
“Shit. What time is it?”
“Almost noon.”
“Damn! That good ass pussy knocked me out like that? Did you know that motherfucker was that damn good?”
“Yes, Jax. Come on, please.”
“You gonna leave me like this?”
He pulled the covers back, revealing his hard dick, and my pussy jumped. If we had time, I would have indulged him again, but we didn’t have time.
“Yes!” I replied, pushing up from his grasp.
“Damn. It’s like that?” He tried grabbing me, but I held up my hand.
“Listen, last night was fun. It was exactly what I needed when I needed it, but you gotta go.” I stood from the bed and started gathering his things. He obviously needed a little push.
“Alright. Fine. I’ma bounce, but only if you promise to text me later.” He sighed, swinging his legs over the side of the bed. The fresh morning light glistened off his perfect body. Damn, he wasn’t a bad sight to wake up to in the morning.
“I don’t have your number.” I tossed him his pants before wrapping my robe around my naked body.
“You do now.” Jaxton grabbed my phone off the bed, and before I could protest, he was calling his. Suddenly, I was regretting not having face identification on my phone.
“Okay, fine. I’ll text you,” I shot back, crossing my arms across my body. I would tell him whatever he needed to hear as long as he left.
“Don’t keep me waiting either. I’ll miss you too much,” he replied, winking as he tossed his t-shirt over his head.
“You move this slow after every random hook up?”
“Nope. You’re special, Faye Baby.” Jax shot me a playful stare, that made my heart flutter. I almost believed he was being genuine, but I knew better.
“Sure, I am.” I twisted up my lips.
“You are special, Faye Baby,” he repeated in a serious tone.
It was almost as if he wanted more than just one night with me. I mean, he had been hinting toward that, but I knew not to trust nothing a man said during sex. This though? This seemed sincere. Was that even possible? I stood there a minute, gazing into his eyes.
“Let me get going.”
Jax moved and started gathering his things around the room, leaving me standing there with a million questions. Could I have a budding romance with someone like Jax? Was I ready for that? As far as I was concerned, Avery was my onetrue love. I’d given my all to him. I didn’t think I had it in me to do it again. No, I had a career to grow. I couldn’t afford the distraction. Jaxton was a playboy. I’d never seen him seriously attached to a woman. Could my career make it through something like a bad breakup? My head was spinning.
The sound of my phone vibrating again made me jump as I rushed to pick it up from the bed. The glam squad was in route to my room.
“Oh, Lord! They’re here! You really need to go.”
“Alright. I’m going.” He pulled on his shorts and slid on his shoes before we both headed to the door. A wave of relief washed over me.
“Let me just peek out.”
I opened the door and stuck my head out in the hallway. It was empty. Maybe everyone had stayed late at the party.
“Okay, it’s clear?—”
My voice halted as the door shut from the force of Jaxton pushing me against the door frame with that sexy smile on full display.
“What? I don’t get a kiss?”
