We'd also decided that, if the Briggs brothers so much aslookedwrong at our girl, they were dead. She didn't need to know that part, though.

She didn't like that answer. Shaking her head, she raised her eyes to mine and frowned at me. Looking around the table, she paused for a few seconds on each of our faces.

"No. I want to know what you think. And I want the truth."

"Princess, this is your decision, not ours," Ash said. "Our opinions might sway you in a direction you otherwise wouldn't go."

"I still want to know. How do you feel about James and Aiden?"

Her hands squeezed mine tightly, and little tremors shook her shoulders.

"Wehatethem, okay?" Predictably, Cole broke first and spat out his words like bullets. "Wedetestthem! You don't know how much control it took to stand there and let them hug you goodbye when, as both men and wolves, we wanted to rip them to shreds!"

Posy's eyes widened and her face paled, and I glared at Cole.

"He's not mad at you," I assured her. Lifting our clasped hands, I kissed the back of her knuckles. "Only your brothers. Never you."

"You probably didn't notice," Ash said, "but either Mase or Cole had their hand on Jay's shoulder the whole time, slamming him with alpha power. That's how bad Quartz wanted out to kill them."

"We both wanted the same thing," Jay admitted. "He knew it would have hurt you, though, and that helped some."

"Like Cole said before, the fact that your brotherswaitedand didnothing, not even helped you run away, is unacceptable." Wyatt shook his head. "Their decision was infuriating and makes no sense to us."

She turned her big blue eyes back to me.

"And you, Mason?"

"If any of us found out Dad was hurting Peri, we'd kill him," I said quietly. "Even when he was the alpha, we would have done everything and anything to save her, even if it meant our lives."

"But I think they were abused, too," she said in a sad little voice.

I didn't give a rat's rectum about James and Aiden Briggs, but seeing her bottom lip quiver broke my heart.

My brothers weren't in any better shape. Ash was whimpering, and the others were blasting their thoughts in the alpha link.

I can't believe she's so worried about those pricks,Cole muttered.They don't deserve her forgiveness,let alone her love.

Even if they themselves were abused, if it were me in her shoes, I would hate them,Wyatt said, and I definitely wouldn't have been able to let them touch me, never mind hug me!

If they were abused and manipulated their whole lives, they were not capable of making good decisions. Jay was the only one of us with some objectivity. We only heard a small part of the story. Maybe they did try to help her escape. Maybe they did try to smuggle her out of there.

Quit giving them the benefit of the doubt,Cole snapped. They were wrong, and you know it!

I'm not saying they were right,Jay replied calmly. For Posy's sake, however, I'm willing to look at all angles of the issue. If she wants to repair her relationship with her brothers, we all need to be prepared to see them again. And you know darned well she will want us all to get along.

That's a big if,I pointed out,but Jay has a point. If she wants them in her life, that means they'll be in ours, too.

"Mason?" Posy tilted her head to the side, her whole face a question mark.

"Just thinking about what you said, little flower." I gave her a tiny smile to reassure her. "Alpha Briggs made sure it was a bad situation all around."

She tugged her hands out of mine and stood. Even sitting, I was an inch or two taller than she was, which I found adorable. She put her arms around my neck and laid her cheek against mine.

"I don't know what to do," she whispered. "Justtell mewhat to do."

With a deep sigh, I wrapped my arms around her waist and hugged her closer.

"Don't do anything, baby. There is no time limit or expiration date on your feelings, whether it's ten weeks, ten months or ten years from now."
