He pointed to everyone but me.

"Why's Jay automatically exempted?"

Cole smacked Wyatt upside the back of his head.

"You know why," he hissed.

As if I'd let anyone keep me out of a fight, Quartz purred.

"Anyway," the king went on, "sort it. As for the rest of us, we kill any wolf that attacks us. If we find Halder, take him alive. Nyx wants to have fun with him for a few months."

We smirked at each other, knowingexactlythe kinds of things Onyx considered to be fun.

"What if he runs?" Mase asked. "Or isn't even there right now?"

"Do you think Tristan's mate could track him? She's a witch," Ash told the king.

"Which magic family is she from? What's her last name?"

"Del Vecchio."

"Son. Of. A. Bitch." King Julian grimaced. "She's a bird shifter, isn't she?"

"Your majesty?" Cole's question reflected all our curiosity.

"Yeah, she can track him, but we have another worry now." He scrubbed a hand through his hair. "If her cousin finds out his family's in trouble—"

His eyes glazed over as he linked with someone, and we waited patiently.

"Too late," he muttered as his eyes cleared. "He already knows and is on his way."

"Is that good or bad?" Ash asked.

"Good, but he is going to be so very pissed."

"Who evenisthis guy?" Cole demanded.

"Angelo del Vecchio."

My brothers and I looked at each other and shrugged.

"You know him by a different name." The king's eyes sparkled with amusement. "He also goes by Angelo Della Morte."

Son of a bitch, indeed.

The fighting was heavy in front of Halder's alpha house when the roar of a shotgun startled Garnet and me. Shifters rarely used guns, and we had no experience fighting with, or against, those who did.

Where did that come from?Garnet demanded as he tore out a wolf's throat.

Then the heavy ozone of magic scorched my nostrils, and I had a fair idea of who the new players were, even though I couldn't see them.

The shooter is Angelo della Morte!Cole yelled in the alpha link, confirming my hunch.He's with Ariel, Zayne and Zayden Maxwell, and two other witches.
