"Um," I bit my lip and dropped my eyes to his chest, and all those hard ridges and lines distracted me.
"What is it, sweetness?"
"I don't want to practice anymore."
"All right. Give me a second to calm down and—"
"No, I don't want you to calm down. I want to—" I let it out in a rush. "I'm ready for real now. Not thatthatwasn't real. I mean, I'm ready to go on, if you are. Are you?"
I shut my eyes as my face caught on fire. Then a kiss landed on my nose, and my eyes popped open. Jayden smiled at me, his dragon gaze full of fire and want.
"Yes, I'm ready, too."
"And I'm okay to take my panties off now," I told him. "Although they didn't seem to be in your way before."
"Well, they'll be in the way of what we're going to do next, so let's take them off."
He hooked his thumbs in the waistband and zipped them down my legs in two seconds, then tossed them to the floor where he'd flung all the rest of our clothes earlier.
He laid me on my back before propping up on one elbow to see every inch of me. Under his hungry gaze, the throbbing returned to my core, and I pressed my thighs together to make it stop.
"Whatarewe going to do next?" I asked.
His eyes swung up to lock with mine while his hand traveled down, down, down to where I ached. I opened my legs again, craving his touch.
"Remember how Wyatt explained it? I'll put myself in here." He eased two fingers inside me again, making me moan. "It might hurt at first. If it's too bad, tell me and I'll stop."
"Will it—" I frowned when he withdrew his fingers. I wanted to tell him to put them back, but wasn't that bold. "Will it get better?"
"Yeah, baby. I'll make you fly again," he promised.
"All right. I want to do this, and I wantyou."
He stared at me in silence, then leaned down to kiss me slowly and deeply.
"I love you, Posy."
My heart skipped a few beats.
"I love you, too. So, so much."
He slipped off his boxers, then crawled on top of me and started to wedge his thigh between mine. When I realized what he wanted, I eagerly spread my legs wider. He chuckled softly and slid his hips into the channel I'd made for him.
"Ready, my love?"
"Yes!"
He hooked a hand under my knee and hiked my leg over his hip. Then something big poked me, and my eyes rounded with wonder. It touched my entrance and went in only half an inch before it stopped, but it was enough to startle me.
"No, baby. Don't tighten up." He touched the tip of his nose to mine. "It's me, remember? It's Jayden, loving you in every way there is to love you. Relax, sweetness. Just relax."
Clinging to his words, I inhaled a lungful of his lush scent and my muscles loosened almost immediately.
I love the smell of roses, especially—
I cried out as pain jolted through me. It both stung and burned, and tears filled my eyes.
"I'm sorry. I'm sorry, darling girl. Give it a minute. Let your body adjust."
