Page 74 of Mates: Posy

"What are you three gossiping about that has you cooing?"

I whipped my head up at Wyatt’s voice. The guys were all watching us, including Tyler, whose eyes were fixed on Peri’s flushed face. Luke stared at Lilah with a grin, obviously happy to see his traumatized sister giggling.

"Mind your own business, Alpha Wyatt." Peri gave him a sour look.

His eyes narrowing, he opened his mouth to retort, and I decided to intervene. Rushing over to him, I threw my arms around his waist and shoved my face into his chest.

"I’m going to miss you," I mumbled into his shirt.

His arms came to wrap around my shoulders and neck, and he took a deep inhale of my scent.

"I miss you already." He bent to whisper in my ear. "This is the first time we’ll be apart since we found you. Have fun, but don’t be gone too long, okay?"

I nodded and squeezed him harder.

By the time I let him go, a pink VW Bug had swerved into one of the two remaining parking spaces. The twins from the store yesterday tumbled out of the car and ran up to us.

"Alphas, is Gretchen okay parked there?" they asked in unison.

They assured them it was, and the girls came over to Peri, Lilah, and me with bright smiles.

"This is going to be so much fun!" squealed one of the twins, jumping up and down on her toes.

"Yeah, it’s not every day you get invited to spend time with the new luna!" the other squeaked.

"Or spend the alphas’ money," her sister quipped.

Peri laughed, and Lilah and I both smiled.

As Peri made the introductions, I realized right away I was going to have trouble telling the girls apart. Not only were their faces identical, but also in their clothing, shoes, and hair styles.

Keeley have white earrings, Lark helped me out,and Callie pink.

Thank you, my wolfie.

Jayden ambled over as we started to say our goodbyes.

"Don’t forget to buy a phone, Lilah," he reminded her.

He went to hand her a black credit card, but hesitated with a frown. Shaking his head, he turned to me with it, but hesitated again.

"Never mind. You’d be no better than she would." He finally handed the card to Peri. "Buy whatever Lilah wants or needs, and don’t let her look at any price tags. Same for Posy. Anything she sees that she likes, get it for her."

"And no arguing, Posy." Mason crossed his arms over his chest and stared down at me with serious gray eyes.

I nodded and shrunk in on myself a bit. When he saw that, he immediately dropped his arms and pulled me against his torso, cradling the back of my head with one huge palm.

"Sorry, baby. I go into alpha mode when other wolves are around." He laid his chin on top of my head. "I want you to enjoy yourself today and don’t worry about the money, okay?"

"Okay."

"Stay with the betas. Use your phone and text or call us if something happens, or even if you don’t feel comfortable and want to come home. One of us will drop everything to come get you, even if the king is here."

He kissed my forehead, then sighed as he handed me over to an impatiently waiting Wyatt, who already had more hugs than any of the others this morning.

As Wyatt held me tight against his chest, he explained that two of the betas would drive a lead vehicle that we would follow. The rest would follow in another vehicle behind us.

"Please be safe." He smiled at me.
