“You’re asking me? I thought after the fourth time, you’d like… get it out of your system or something.”

“Me too.” Little did he know that the fourth time had come and gone already.

He shuddered. “Why are you making me talk about this?”

“You started it.”

“Only because I know why you’re hiding in the damn breakroom. Jesus, A. Talk to Holds about this shit or something.”

I wave him off. “No thanks.”

He sighs. “You’re still coming over on Sunday, right?”

“I’m not going to miss the weekly dinner thing that Gav and Holds are obsessed with. They’d kill me.”

“Damn straight.”

I glance at him. “It’s at your house this week?”

“Yep.”

I nod and check my phone, finding a text waiting for me. As I stand, I mutter to Drix, “See ya later.”

“See you, man.”

Taking a deep breath, I open my texts.

Delaney: Are you coming over tonight?

And because I’m a weak man, I reply back.

Me: Sure.

Delaney: Good. Text me when you know what time.

I’ll have to wait until I get my mother settled in for the night before I head over there, but Delaney already knows that, and he never seems to mind a late night even when we both work early the next day. Why would he when we’re both getting our rocks off in the best possible way?

Me: Will do.

I pocket my phone and shake my head at myself. What the hell am I doing?

Delaney:You want your regular from Spiced Kitchen?

Me: Sure. Thanks.

Delaney: What about dessert?

Me: I thought you had ice cream?

Delaney: I may have eaten it already.

Me: I’ve been looking forward to moose tracks since you told me about it 3 days ago.

Delaney: I’ll pick some up.

Me: I was joking, D. You don’t have to do that.
