Kayden grabbed his own phone and typed a message out to Jason. What time is the transfer to Zantec today?
Jason responded right away.Don’t worry about it.
??Kayden sent back.
He sent another message, not willing to send Jason out on his own again.Obviously, I’m coming with you.
No, seriously, Kay, it’s all good. We’re out already. Just enjoy your day. It’s pretty nice out.
I don’t like that…Kayden texted.
It’s an easy transfer, it’s really no big deal. I’ll message you when we’re done.
Kayden bit his lip and looked at the girl in his arms, contemplating whether he should let her sleep and go meet up with Jason. He didn’t want to leave her alone and didn’t want her waking up without him after he’d practically suffocated her to death. Breath play was a delicate art, one that required a lot of trust and patience on both sides. He sighed, acquiescing to his brother against his better judgement.
Did you get Corey a phone?Kayden messaged him.
He waited, the typing bubble popping up and disappearing a few times before Jason’s message came through.
It’s just for music,Jason sent.
Then another message came in.Archie disabled it from connecting to anything.
Kayden put his phone back on the side table beside the other one and realized there was a set of headphones there, too. Jason could say what he wanted about “the girl,” but the fact that he’d started peppering her with gifts was enough to show Kayden that his attitude was mostly posturing and Jason wasn’t as unaffected by Corey as he tried to present.
Kayden spent the better part of an hour counting the freckles across Corey’s nose and reading the news on his phone, trying not to think about the transfer, before Corey opened her eyes again.
“How do you feel?” Kayden asked her, stroking a finger along her cheekbone.
Corey’s hand travelled between her legs, and she felt herself.
“Sticky,” she grimaced. “I need a shower.”
Kayden smiled at her, thinking of all the ways he could make her stickier. But it was enough for one morning.
“Go shower. I’ll make us some food,” he said instead.
“And some coffee,” she requested, clambering off him and making her way towards the bathroom without a backwards glance.
Kayden just watched her perfect ass bounce with her stride as she left him naked in her bed, the weight of her rooting deeper into his bones.
Chapter nineteen
- Kayden -
Milk was frothing under the spout of the steamer when Corey came into the kitchen. Kayden poured it over both their espressos and handed Corey her mug.
Before taking it, she put a new pair of running shoes on the counter, with the iPhone and the headphones, cocking a brow at him.
“I’m assuming these are for me?” she asked.
“That seems to be the case.” Kayden took a sip of his coffee.
“When did you have time to get this for me yesterday?”
“I didn’t.”
Corey looked confused. “Well… thanks, I guess.”
