“Fucking liar! You wanna leave me, Savannah? Nobody wants you, bitch. I’m the only person who will put up with your bullshit. Hawk will use you for one night and then you’ll come running back to me.”

He dragged me inside by my hair, all the way down to our bedroom. Lloyd threw me onto the bed and towered over me.

“You’re never gonna leave me. If I can’t have you, nobody fucking will.”

His fists rained down on me, and I tried to cover my face. I could feel the pain radiating through my skull as he slammed my head against the headboard.

Blood soaked into the bedding as he hit me even harder. Lloyd pulled his pants down and shoved my dress up. I closed my eyes as he shoved his penis into me, making me wince as he thrusted into me over and over.

Despite my brash attitude with Hawk before, I imagined him as Lloyd pleasured himself with my body. Hawk was my protector, even when he wasn’t here. He was my escape from this cruel world I lived in.

Lloyd pulled out and I could feel his hot come spurting across my back. He put his pants back on as I laid there in pain from everything he had done. But his torture didn’t stop there.

Lloyd grabbed me and dragged me to the bathroom. He threw me into the shower and turned on the cold water.

“Clean yourself up and remember who you belong to. And if I catch you around Hawk, I will fucking destroy him and all of those gang bangers.”

He walked out, leaving me to cry alone in the shower. I couldn’t let him hurt any of them, so I promised myself to shut my mouth and stay far away from anybody associated with The Devil’s Highwaymen.

As I was getting out of the shower, Lloyd came around the corner and grabbed me.

“Why the fuck is he here? I can see him on the cameras!”

Lloyd pushed me onto the ground and grabbed the lamp, bringing it down on top of me. Glass shattered as he beat me with the same lamp his father had gifted him when we moved into these enormous homes; or should I say, prisons.

I screamed as he kicked and hit me, all while he yelled about Hawk. The room went fuzzy as the base of the lamp hit my head.

Maybe this would finally be the time he killed me and set me free….

“You’re a filthy whore, Savannah. Now it’s time to pay.”

Lloyd hit me again before my entire world went dark. I could hear him laughing as he leaned into my ear.

“Let’s see how much he likes you now, bitch.”

Chapter Two

Hawk

IwatchedasLloyddragged Savannah inside the house. Growling, I hopped off my motorcycle and stalked toward the house.

I fucking hated that man and wanted to kill him. How could he put his hands on that perfect fucking woman? Savannah was gorgeous, and she didn’t even know it.

Staying back, I snuck around the house until I came to their bedroom window. I had scouted their house before to monitor Sav. She may say she didn’t need me, but I knew she did.

I had this uncontrollable attraction to her. It was like a powerful magnet that I couldn’t escape. Savannah brought out this alpha beast in me, and I just needed to be near her.

A crash inside brought me out of my head and I peeked into the window to see Savannah laying on the ground. Lloyd spit at her and walked away. I ducked into the bushes as he tore open the front door and stumbled to his car.

As he swerved away, I rushed in the front door and ran down the hallway to Savannah’s bedroom. I fell to my knees beside her and checked for a pulse.

I cursed myself for not running in faster but knew I had to play the fucking game. Lloyd had a long rap sheet of domestic violence and sexual assault charges but somehow got them all dropped. But Moose had done some digging and found Lloyd’s dad paid all the women off or paid judges to drop the charges. Unfortunately, they were a big name in this town who held some power. But lucky for me, we were the motherfucking Devil’s Highwaymen and would handle this shit.

Putting my fingers to her neck, I found a pulse in Savannah and called Bambi right away.

“Hey, doll. Need a lift for Sav. He got her good this time.”

“No problem. I’ll send Rooster right now. Keep our girl safe.”
