Stripping down, I hopped in the shower and washed the stink of alcohol off of me. I shaved and washed my hair, then got out.

Lily had told me to leave the cut at home and to look presentable. I turned to my closet and took out my suit. This was sure to knock them the fuck down.

Let’s introduce them to Wyatt and see their reaction…

I styled my hair and put the suit and dress shoes on, grabbing my wallet on the way out the door. As I stepped down into the main room, all my brothers became silent.

Luna whistled. “Well, shit. Who the fuck are you?”

I shook my head as I headed over to Lily.

“Everything good?”

Her look was stone cold, not letting any emotion out.

“Yes. Let’s go. No bikes for you, right to my car.”

I nodded and followed her out. There was no way I would risk fucking up everything she worked hard for. To be honest, Lily was a little intimidating.

She was this beautiful, cold, calculated, smart as a whip woman. Her attitude screamed no nonsense, and I couldn’t wait to see her in court. I made a mental note to thank Bambi for finding her. The club needed a new lawyer, anyway.

My entire club, Old Lady’s included, followed us to the courthouse. I had my family at my back as I faced potential prison time.

Lily and I walked into the courtroom and took our seats at the right table. Lloyd and his slimy looking lawyer came in and took the left side.

I refused to make eye contact with that fucker. He wasn’t worth losing Savannah permanently. I had fucked up, and he took his opportunity to pounce, but I wasn’t going to let that happen again.

The bailiff cleared his throat. “All rise. Ravalli County District Court is now in session. The Honorable Judge Arthur is presiding.”

We all rose, and I turned to see the crowd behind me; Brothers, Old Ladies, community members, all on my side to support me. But then one person I wanted, not needed, wasn't here. Savannah was nowhere to be seen.

I turned back around as the judge took his place. He banged the gavel and everybody sat.

“Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Calling the case of Lloyd Wiedermann versus Wyatt Sullivan. Are both sides present?”

Lily and Lloyd’s lawyer both stood and nodded.

“Wyatt Sullivan, please rise to hear the charges.”

I rose alongside Lily.

“Wyatt Sullivan, you are charged with attempted murder of Mister Lloyd Wiedermann and possession of a controlled substance. How do you plead?”

Lily spoke for me. “My client pleads not guilty, Your Honor.”

“Thank you.”

We all sat as the Judge cleared his throat and proceeded. Lloyd’s lawyer presented their side and made me out to be a monster. The judge listened carefully. Finally, it was our turn.

Lily went through the motions, proving that the drugs were in fact planted there. She showed him my weeks’ worth of clean drug tests, and the police’s report on the drugs.

My fingerprints weren’t on there. None were actually. How Lily convinced them to test the bag was beyond me, but I was forever grateful for her.

She fought the case for attempted murder, stating if I wanted to, I would have killed the defendant already. She noted his violent past and his current case with Savannah, my girlfriend.

The judge sat silent for a few minutes before looking at me. He pointed his finger directly at me.

“I’ll drop the drug charges and lower the attempted murder charge to second degree assault. You’ve stayed out of trouble for a long time. I’ll give you probation for two years for the assault. But as soon as you put even a toe over that line, your freedom is gone. Don’t show your face in my courtroom again.”
